  1. 1. Steering Based Lateral Performance Control of Long Heavy Vehicle Combinations

    Författare :Sogol Kharrazi; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Trailer Swing; Active Steering; Offtracking; Heavy Vehicle; Lateral Performance; Sine with Dwell; Accident Analysis; Longer Combination Vehicle; Rearward Amplification;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis the lateral performance of heavy vehicle combinations, specifically longer combination vehicles, is discussed. The use of longer combination vehicles is promoted by their positive impact on the traffic congestion problem, as well as their economic and environmental benefits due to reduced fuel consumption and emissions. 2. 2. Towards efficient vehicle dynamics development : From subjective assessments to objective metrics, from physical to virtual testing

    Författare :Gaspar Gil Gómez; Mikael Nybacka; Lars Drugge; Egbert Bakker; Peter Pfeffer; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Steering feel; vehicle handling; driver preference; objective metrics; subjective assessments; regression analysis; artificial neural network; Vehicle and Maritime Engineering; Farkostteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Vehicle dynamics development is strongly based on subjective assessments (SA) of vehicle prototypes, which is expensive and time consuming. Consequently, in the age of computer- aided engineering (CAE), there is a drive towards reducing this dependency on physical test- ing. LÄS MER

  3. 3. On Traffic Situation Predictions for Automated Driving of Long Vehicle Combinations

    Författare :Peter Nilsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; braking; steering; heavy trucks; automated driving; long vehicle combination; active safety; vehicle dynamics; prediction; driver behaviour;

    Sammanfattning : The introduction of longer vehicle combinations for road transports than are currently allowed is an important viable option for achieving the environmental goals on transported goods in Sweden and Europe by the year 2030. This thesis addresses how driver assistance functionality for high-speed manoeuvring can be designed and realized for prospective long vehicle combinations. LÄS MER

  4. 4. On Lateral Stability of Heavy Vehicle Combinations - Linking Accident Analysis and Vehicle Dynamics

    Författare :Sogol Kharrazi; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Accident Analysis; Vehicle Dynamics; Performance Measures; Lateral Stability Control; Heavy Trucks; Lateral Instability;

    Sammanfattning : One of the hazardous motions of heavy trucks is lateral instability which can be defined as deviation from driver intended path due to skidding of the vehicle. Lateral instability is associated with 9% of heavy trucks involved in traffic accidents, which represents a considerable figure when translated to real accidents. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Component and system design of a mild hybrid 48 V powertrain for a light vehicle

    Författare :Stefan Skoog; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Extra low voltage; Hybrid Electric Vehicle; 48 V; Li-ion battery; Calorimetric measurement; Oil cooling; Efficiency; Multi-phase; MOSFET; Power Electronics; Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machine; PWM; Inverter; Power density;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis presents contributions in three areas relevant for the development of 48 V mild hybrid electric powertrains for cars. The first part comprises methodologies and extensive testing of lithium-ion battery cells in order to establish the electric and thermal performance using equivalent circuit models. LÄS MER
