21. Development of Automated Algorithms for Epicardial Adipose Tissue Analysis in Computed Tomography and their Application in Population Based Research
Sammanfattning : The epicardial adipose tissue (EAT), which surrounds the heart and is separated from other tissues only by the thin layers of the pericardium, has enjoyed intense research for the past decades. Increased inflammatory activity in the EAT in coronary artery disease has, together with associated volumetric expansion of the EAT and changes in its radiodensity supported theories that the EAT might play a role in the pathogenesis of coronary atherosclerosis or mirror its progression better than traditional risk factors. 22. High Frequency Model of Electrified Railway Propulsion System for EMC Analysis
Sammanfattning : A model of the electrified railway propulsion system working in a wide frequency range is studied in this thesis. The high frequency modeling is the first stage to study and predict the Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) problems in the electrified railway propulsion system, which are safety and reliability issues of high concern. 23. Multivariate Exploration and Processing of Sensor Data-applications with multidimensional sensor systems
Sammanfattning : A sensor is a device that transforms a physical, chemical, or biological stimulus into a readable signal. The integral part that sensors make in modern technology is considerable and many are those trying to take the development of sensor technology further. LÄS MER
24. Microplastic Mitigation in Urban Stormwater : Assessing Horizontal-Flow Filters of Bark, Biochar and Sand as Remediation Strategies
Sammanfattning : Urban stormwater has been suggested as a significant vector through which microplastics (MPs) reach aquatic environments. Currently, only a small fraction of stormwater in Sweden undergoes any form of treatment. LÄS MER
25. Modeling and Control of Voltage Source Converters Connected to the Grid
Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with the modeling and control of pulse width modulated (PWM) voltage source converters connected to the grid. When voltage source converters are connected to the grid, the power quality and the dynamic performance are affected by the line filter connected between the converter and the grid, and by nonlinearities caused by the switching converter.
