    Författare :Ida Westerberg; Sven Halldin; Jan Seibert; Lars-Christer Lundin; Chong-Yu Xu; Deliang Chen; Alberto Montanari; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Central America; Discharge; Flow-duration curve; Fuzzy regression; GLUE; Model evaluation; Non-stationarity; Observational uncertainty; Precipitation; Quality control; Rating curve; Regionalisation; Uncertainty estimation; Ungauged basins; Water resources; Avbördningskurva; Centralamerika; GLUE; icke-stationaritet; kvalitetskontroll; modellutvärdering; nederbörd; observationsosäkerheter; avrinningsområden utan vattenfö-ringsdata; oskarp regression; osäkerhetsuppskattning; regionalisering; varaktighetskurva; vattenföring; vattenresurser; Hydrology; Hydrologi; Hydrology; Hydrologi;

    Sammanfattning : Knowledge about spatial and temporal variability of hydrological processes is central for sustainable water-resources management, and such knowledge is created from observational data. Hydrologic models are necessary for prediction for time periods and areas lacking data, but are affected by observational uncertainties. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Robust Water Balance Modeling with Uncertain Discharge and Precipitation Data : Computational Geometry as a New Tool

    Författare :José-Luis Guerrero; Sven Halldin; Stefan Uhlenbrook; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Alpha shape; Convex hull; Depth function; Discharge; Hydrological models; Honduras; Model calibration; Parameter-value estimation; Precipitation; Rating curve; Robust; Robustness; Uncertainty estimation; Water resources.; Alfaform; avbördningskurva; djupfunktion; Honduras; hydrologiska modeller; konvext hölje; modellkalibrering; nederbörd; osäkerhetsskattning; parametervärdesskattning; robust; robusthet; vattenföring; vattenresurser; Hydrology; Hydrologi;

    Sammanfattning : Models are important tools for understanding the hydrological processes that govern water transport in the landscape and for prediction at times and places where no observations are available. The degree of trust placed on models, however, should not exceed the quality of the data they are fed with. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Genomic and morphological diversity of marine planktonic diatom-diazotroph associations : a continuum of integration and diversification through geological time

    Författare :Andrea Caputo; Rachel Ann Foster; Monika Quinones Winder; Ramon Massana; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; phytoplankton; diatoms; cyanobacteria; diazotrophs; symbiosis; evolution; phylogenetics; confocal microscopy; qPCR; CARD-FISH; tropics; sub-tropics; marin ekologi; Marine Ecology;

    Sammanfattning : Symbioses between eukaryotes and nitrogen (N2)-fixing cyanobacteria (or diazotrophs) are quite common in the plankton community. A few genera of diatoms (Bacillariophyceae) such as Rhizosolenia, Hemiaulus and Chaetoceros are well known to form symbioses with the heterocystous diazotrophic cyanobacteria Richelia intracellularis and Calothrix rhizosoleniae. 4. 4. Multiphase Contamination in Rock Fractures : Fluid Displacement and Interphase Mass Transfer

    Författare :Zhibing Yang; Auli Niemi; Fritjof Fagerlund; Tissa Illangasekare; Insa Neuweiler; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; multiphase flow; dissolution; mass transfer; invasion percolation; immiscible displacement; fractured media; groundwater contamination; non-aqueous phase liquid; curvature; Hydrology; Hydrologi;

    Sammanfattning : Multiphase flow and transport in fractured rock is of importance to many practical and engineering applications. In the field of groundwater hydrology an issue of significant environmental concern is the release of dense non-aqueous phase liquids (DNAPLs) which can cause long-term groundwater contamination in fractured aquifers. 5. 5. Spatiotemporal streamflow variability in a boreal landscape : Importance of landscape composition for catchment hydrological functioning

    Författare :Reinert Huseby Karlsen; Jan Seibert; Kevin Bishop; Thomas Grabs; Sarah E. Godsey; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; streamflow; catchment hydrology; boreal; water balance; spatiotemporal variability; landscape analysis; climate change; recession curve; Hydrology; Hydrologi;

    Sammanfattning : The understanding of how different parts of a landscape contribute to streamflow by storing and releasing water has long been a central issue in hydrology. Knowledge about what controls streamflow dynamics across landscapes can further our understanding of how catchments store and release water, facilitate predictions for ungauged catchments, and improve the management of water quality and resources.
