1. Weathering and water quality in an area with mineralized till, Liikavaara, northern Sweden
2. Dissolved organic carbon in tropical watersheds : Linking field observation and eco-hydrological modelling
Sammanfattning : Dissolved organic carbon (DOC) is a general description of the organic material dissolved in water. DOC is an important source of energy, carbon, and nutrient transfers from terrestrial to aquatic ecosystems. The export of DOC into aquatic ecosystems may contribute to the carbon balance of terrestrial ecosystems and to water degradation. LÄS MER
3. Metal pathways in stormwater treatment systems
Sammanfattning : Heavy metals in urban stormwater runoff affect the ecological status of receiving surface waters. To avoid this, various stormwater treatment systems have been developed and implemented during the last 50 years. One of themost common and continuously popular systems is wet stormwater ponds. 4. Urban Snowmelt Processes: Modelling and Observation
Sammanfattning : In northern Scandinavia and other cold regions, urban drainage systems are often unable to cope with the high volumes of melt water which can be sustained for several weeks. High waste water treatment plant inflows, combined system overflows and low water quality are a few problems associated with snowmelt. LÄS MER
5. Uncertainty measurements and validation of ocean colour data in optically complex waters
Sammanfattning : The thesis addresses validation activities associated with the use of in situ and satellite-based radiometers to assess water quality parameters, such as chlorophyll-a (Chl-a), total suspended matter (TSM) and coloured dissolved organic matter (CDOM- also known as yellow substances, YEL) in CDOM-dominated waters. In paper I, an inter-comparison of in situ radiometers is presented. LÄS MER
