1. Computational studies of water vapour - Liquid equilibrium
Sammanfattning : It is commonly known that water plays a crucial role in many natural and industrial processes. One of these processes is the formation of water trees, and the subsequent breakdown of polyethylene used for high voltage cable insulation purposes. LÄS MER
2. Thermodynamic Properties of CO2 Mixtures and Their Applications in Advanced Power Cycles with CO2 Capture Processes
Sammanfattning : The thermodynamic properties of CO2-mixtures are essential for the design and operation of CO2 Capture and Storage (CCS) systems. A better understanding of the thermodynamic properties of CO2 mixtures could provide a scientific basis to define a proper guideline of CO2 purity and impure components for the CCS processes according to technical, safety and environmental requirements. 3. Simulations of water clustering in vapour, hydrocarbons and polymers
Sammanfattning : It is commonly known that water plays a crucial role in many natural and industrial processes. One of these processes is the formation of water trees, and the subsequent breakdown of polyethylene used for high voltage cable insulation purposes. LÄS MER
4. Studies of surfactant behaviour and model surfaces relevant to flotation deinking
Sammanfattning : The objective of this work was to investigate the behaviour of some model surfactants used in the deinking process, namely, sodium oleate and two ethoxylated nonionic surfactants (C12E6 and C14E6) as well as to investigate the suitability of various model substrates for mimicking interactions in technical systems. The influence of the adsorption to the air water interface has been measured by means of equilibrium and dynamic surface tension measurements, as well as foaming experiments. LÄS MER
5. Numerical Modelling of Diesel Spray Injection, Turbulence Interaction and Combustion
Sammanfattning : This thesis covers two main topics. The first is numerical modelling ofcavitating diesel injector flows, focusing on describing suchflows using asingle-phase cavitation model based on a barotropic equation of statetogetherwith a homogenous equilibrium assumption. LÄS MER
