  1. 11. Condition-Based Maintenance: Selection and Improvement of a Cost-Effective Vibration-Based Maintenance Policy for Rolling element Bearings

    Författare :Basim Al-Najjar; Sherwin David; Bo Bergman; Produktionsekonomi; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; vibration and acoustic engineering; vacuum technology; hydraulics; Mechanical engineering; a cost-effective vibration-based maintenance policy.; Integrated maintenance; Condition monitoring and control; Total Time on Test-plots; Vibration monitoring; effectiveness and accuracy; Failure causes and mechanisms; Maintenance quality; Maskinteknik; hydraulik; vakuumteknik; vibrationer; akustik; Commercial and industrial economics; Industriell ekonomi; Maintenance Technology; Terotechnology;

    Sammanfattning : Modern machinery is expensive and therefore must run at high availability and effectiveness which cannot be achieved without an effective maintenance policy. Condition monitoring, (CM), techniques can be utilised to reduce or arrest the rate of deterioration of a component so increasing operating life. LÄS MER

  2. 12. Quantum Optics and Waveguide Quantum Electrodynamics in Superconducting Circuits

    Författare :Emely Wiegand; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Quantum Optics; Circuit Quantum Electrodynamics; Waveguide Quantum Electrodynamics; Superconducting Qubits; Artificial Atoms;

    Sammanfattning : Waveguide circuit quantum electrodynamics (waveguide circuit QED) studies light-matter interaction with superconducting circuits in one dimension. In circuit QED, natural atoms are replaced by superconducting qubits consisting of a non-linear Josephson junction, resulting in an anharmonic energy spectrum just like real atoms. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Graphene Heat Spreaders for Electronics Thermal Management Applications

    Författare :Yong Zhang; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; test platform; heat spreader.; transfer; Graphene; thermal management;

    Sammanfattning : Graphene shows great potential for applications in electronics due to its outstanding physical properties such as extremely high electron mobility, high thermal conductivity, high Young’s modulus and very high surface-to-volume ratio. Among these attractive properties, the high intrinsic thermal conductivity is a critical advantage for the application of graphene in electronics to alleviate heat dissipation problems. LÄS MER

  4. 14. In-Cylinder Fluid Flow, Fuel Preparation and Combustion in SI Engines - Application of Optical Diagnostics

    Författare :Martin Ekenberg; Förbränningsmotorer; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Laserteknik; vakuumteknik; vibrationer; akustik; Motors and propulsion systems; Motorer; hydraulik; Maskinteknik; PIV; vibration and acoustic engineering; hydraulics; vacuum technology; Mechanical engineering; framdrivningssystem; Laser technology;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis laser-based measurements of in-cylinder flow and fuel concentrations in two stroke and direct injected four-stroke engines are presented. The major problem with the carburetted two-stroke engine is the short-circuiting of fuel that occurs during the scavenging phase. This leads to large emissions of unburned hydrocarbons. LÄS MER

  5. 15. Effect of water contamination on the diffused content of hydrogen under stress in AISI-52100 bearing steel

    Författare :Tajammal Imran; Maskinelement; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; vacuum technology; hydraulics; Mechanical engineering; materialteknik; Materiallära; Material technology; Hydrogen Diffusion; Rolling Element; Machine Elements; Tribology; Hydrogen Embrittlement; vibration and acoustic engineering; Maskinteknik; hydraulik; vakuumteknik; vibrationer; akustik;

    Sammanfattning : Abstract Hydrogen embrittlement is a degradation process of mechanical/tribological properties (toughness, wear etc.) of mating steel surfaces. This is caused by the presence and interaction of hydrogen with applied stresses. Therefore, it is important to quantify the hydrogen content which could be dissolved under applied stresses in steel.
