  1. 16. Proteomic Analysis of Urinary Bladder Cancer : Aiming for Novel Biomarkers

    Författare :Mårten Lindén; Per-Uno Malmström; Ulrika Segersten; Sara Bergström Lind; Lars Egevad; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :urine; APOE; FGB; GAL1; LRG1; POLR1E; SERPINA1; STMN1; TOP2A; biomarker; diagnostic biomarker; prognostic biomarker; predictive biomarker; mass spectrometry; western blot; dot blot; immunohistochemistry; IHC; tissue microarray; TMA; urothelium; antibody; antibody-based; urinblåsecancer; biomarkör; diagnos; prognos; urin; proteomik; masspektrometri; immunohistokemi; antikroppar; Molecular Biology; Molekylärbiologi; Molekylär medicin; Molecular Medicine;

    Sammanfattning : Urinary bladder cancer is a heterogeneous disease appearing in different forms, e.g. non-muscle invasive and muscle invasive. For all variants, the expression of proteins is interesting to analyze for diagnostic, predictive, prognostic and drug targeting purposes, since it reflects the altered gene expression causing the cancer. Sammanfattning : The two purposes of this thesis were to evaluate new diagnostic techniques of lymphnode staging in invasive bladder cancer and to evaluate the results of neoadjuvant chemotherapy in invasive bladder cancer.Sentinel node detection was performed in 13 patients in preparation for radical cystectomy. 3. 18. Urinary catheter policies for short-term bladder drainage in hip surgery patients

    Författare :Maria Hälleberg-Nyman; Ann Langius-Eklöf; Margareta Gustafsson; Jan-Erik Johansson; Ania Willman; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Urinary catheterisation; nosocomial urinary tract infection; hip fracture; hip arthroplasty; nursing; patient experiences; clamping; Vårdvetenskap; Nursing Science;

    Sammanfattning : The overall aim of this thesis was to evaluate methods for urinary catheter handling in patients undergoing hip surgery. The intention was to gain knowledge in order to provide optimal and cost- effective care regarding urinary catheterisation in this group of patients. LÄS MER

  4. 19. Urinary bladder carcinoma, preclinical and clinical studies on EGFR based targeting

    Författare :Peter Bue; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Surgery; urinary bladder carcinoma; epidermal growth factor-dextran; radionuclide therapy; Kirurgi; Surgery; Kirurgi; kirurgi; särskilt urologi; Urology;

    Sammanfattning : Radical cystectomy with bilateral pelvic lymphadenectomy is the standard treatment for muscle-invasive transitional cell carcinoma of the urinary bladder. Despite presumably localised malignancies and efficacious management about 50% of patients will die within 5 years, the majority due to metastatic disease. LÄS MER

  5. 20. Effects of Denervation and Infravesical Obstruction in the Rat Urinary Bladder

    Författare :Tord Berggren; Urologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Infravesical obstruction; Lactate dehydrogenase; Atropine; Hypertrophy; Vasopressin; Ultrastructure; Parasympathetic nerves; Smooth muscle; Pelvic Ganglion; Rat Urinary Bladder; Ganglionectomy; Cystometry; Denervation.truction; Urology; nephrology; Urologi; nefrologi;

    Sammanfattning : Median micturition volume decreased early after partial outlet obstruction, 24 hrs total obstruction and hemidenervation. Degeneration release of transmitter may explain this, assuming that bladder wall distension causes nerve degeneration. LÄS MER
