1. Generation of urban runoff : Seasonal and climate change perspective
Sammanfattning : Runoff generation in cold regions is characterized by snowmelt contributions to runoff during the periods of thawing and changing runoff patterns due to frozen ground. This thesis project aimed at addressing these challenges by advancing the procedures for winter urban runoff computations and the assessment of control measures during the winter/spring period, when the snowmelt and frozen soils dominantly impact runoff generation in the current and future climates. 2. On Urban Runoff Modelling. The Application of Numerical Models Based on the Kinematic Wave Theory Part I,II

3. Urban Snowmelt Processes: Modelling and Observation
Sammanfattning : In northern Scandinavia and other cold regions, urban drainage systems are often unable to cope with the high volumes of melt water which can be sustained for several weeks. High waste water treatment plant inflows, combined system overflows and low water quality are a few problems associated with snowmelt. LÄS MER
4. Uncertainties in rainfall-runoff modelling of green urban drainage systems : Measurements, data selection and model structure
Sammanfattning : Green urban drainage systems are used to avoid flooding and damages to people and property, while limiting the downstream flooding and water quality problems caused by pipe-based drainage systems. Computer models are used to analyse and predict the performance of such systems for design and operation purposes. LÄS MER
5. Urban stormwater systems in future climates : assessment and management of hydraulic overloading
Sammanfattning : Increasing global temperatures and tendencies of more frequent extreme weather events have been observed over the recent decades, and the continuation of this trend is predicted by future climate models. Such climatic changes impact on many human activities and hence the interest in, and focus on, climate change has increased rapidly in recent years. LÄS MER
