16. A time and place for everything? : social visualisation tools and critical literacies
Sammanfattning : The aim of this study is to analyse mutual enactments of critical literacies and social visualisation tools as information resources. The central concept of critical literacies as used here extends and redefines prior critical literacy definitions to denote the pluralistic situated enactments of meaning through which study participants identify, question and transform bias, restrictions and power related aspects of access, control and use in relation to the tools. 17. Swedish integration policy documents : a close dialogic reading
Sammanfattning : Sweden as the great welfare state where everybody is equally welcomed and cared for has for long been the prevailing view. Although Swedish integration policy seems to confirm this view, this is far removed from many people’s experienced reality. LÄS MER
18. Computational modeling of complex flow : Doctoral thesis at Chalmers University of Technology
Sammanfattning : In this thesis we consider the following aspects of computational modeling of complex flows: (i) subgrid modeling, (ii) stability, (iii) a posteriori error estimation, and (iv) computational platform. We develop a framework for adaptivity and error control for multiscale problems, in particular for turbulent flow, based on a posteriori error estimates. LÄS MER
19. Towards novel applications for biomolecular interactions at surfaces
Sammanfattning : The focus of this thesis has been to examine two new concepts involving the interaction of biological agents with synthetic material surfaces. The feasibility of deploying phage display techniques for the screening of materials in non-biological media was examined in two studies. 20. QCM-based sensing using biological and biomimetic interfaces
Sammanfattning : The objective of this thesis was to explore novel approaches for studying molecular recognition at biological and biomimetic surfaces using the quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) biosensor technique. The first two papers focused on the synthesis and study of biotin selective polymer films prepared using the molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) technique. LÄS MER
