  1. 1. Posture, postural ability and mobility in cerebral palsy

    Författare :Elisabet Rodby Bousquet; Lund Ortopedi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Cerebral palsy; posture; mobility; walking; wheelchairs; assessment tool;

    Sammanfattning : Cerebral palsy (CP) is the most common cause of motor disability in children and adolescents with a prevalence of 2-3/1000. CP is characterized by disorders of posture and movement with impairments ranging from mild to severe. The ability to control posture is an important prerequisite for all voluntary movements. 2. 2. Subject-specific musculoskeletal modeling of the lower extremities in persons with unilateral cerebral palsy

    Författare :Olesya Klets; Elena Gutierrez-Farewik; Sven Kleiven; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :cerebral palsy; moment arm; muscle length; hemiplegic; MRI; subject-specific; musculoskeletal modeling; lower extremities; muscle volume; Mechanical engineering; Maskinteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The computational musculoskeletal models that are used to study muscle moment-generating capacities of persons with movement disorders and planning treatment options must be accurate, and take into account the inter-individual variability of musculoskeletal geometry. In Paper I the methods of creating the subject-specific musculoskeletal model of the lower extremities from magnetic resonance images (MRIs) were developed. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Goal-directed therapy for children with cerebral palsy

    Författare :Kristina Löwing; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : The overall aims of the thesis were to study the effects of goal-directed therapy (GDT) in children with cerebral palsy (CP) in an ecological setting, using the ICF-CY as a frame of reference, and to determine the reliability of the selective motor control (SMC) scale. Measures included in this thesis were represented in the domains of body function/structure and activity and participation. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Performing bimanual activities in everyday life : experiences of children with unilateral cerebral palsy

    Författare :Annika Sköld; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : In everyday life, humans perform activities. Some activities demand the use of two hands and may be challenging to persons with reduced function in one hand. Alternative ways of performing such activities may then have to be used. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Aspects of hand function in children with unilateral impairments : caused by obstetric brachial plexus or hemiplegic cerebral palsy

    Författare :Lena Krumlinde Sundholm; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :Hand function; unilateral impairments; obstetric brachial plexus palsy; hemiplegic cerebral palsy; children; assisting hand;

    Sammanfattning : Unilateral arm/hand dysfunction caused by obstetric brachial plexus palsy (OBPP) or hemiplegic cerebral palsy (CP) is most often afflicted on a child in the pre- or perinatal period of life. Despite different origin of the impairments, the outcomes for both groups implicate one well functioning and one dysfunctioning hand, and the consequences for every day task performance are similar.
