    Sammanfattning : The dissertation contains an analysis of children’s right to participate in legal proceedings that concern the child personally in Swedish law and according to the international undertakings that Sweden has accepted, inter alia, by ratification of the UN convention on the rights of the child.In this work, an investigation is made into the application by the district courts of the legislative rules introduced in 1996, which give the child to right to state its view on matters that affect them personally. The focus is on children who have been exposed to their father’s violence against their mother The aim is to study how the legislators’ intentions concerning children’s participation in this area are implemented in work groups.     Sammanfattning : Avhandlingens överordnade syfte är att utforska möjligheterna för ett integrerat forskningsperspektiv på mäns våld samt exemplifiera hur sådan forskning kan bedrivas. Det konkreta syftet är att öka kunskapen om hur våldsamma mäns barndomsupplevelser, socialisation, maskulinitetskonstruktion och emotioner kan relateras till deras våld mot andra män, mot sig själva och mot kvinnor samt till hur terapeutiska interventioner mot våld kan analyseras och utvecklas i korrespondens med denna kunskap. They are "fathers called into question" and their fatherhood is not very much investigated so far.
