6. Spinal cord ischemia : An experimental study of the spinal cord blood supply and peroperative ischemia detection by a new method of intrathecal monitoring
Sammanfattning : Spinal cord ischemia associated with thoracoabdominal aortic surgery may lead to devastating neurological complications. Improvement in bypass techniques and various adjunctive measures has reduced its incidence, but still 5-10 % of the patients develop postoperative paraplegia. LÄS MER
7. Evolutionary Perspectives on Naidinae (Annelida, Clitellata, Naididae): Molecular and Morphological Revelations
Sammanfattning : Naidinae is a group of tiny oligochaetous clitellates, common all over the world, primarily in freshwater. The taxon includes about 180 nominal species. LÄS MER
8. Multimodal and multiscale characterization of bone and bone interfaces in health and disease
Sammanfattning : Seeing is believing. Our understanding of phenomena often involves their direct observation. However, bone architecture is challenging to visualize given its multi-level hierarchical organization. LÄS MER
9. Long-term studies after primary and revision Anterior Cruciate Ligament reconstruction using different types of autograft - with special emphasis on the clinical, radiographic, histological and ultrastructural results
Sammanfattning : Long-term studies after primary and revision Anterior Cruciate Ligament reconstruction using different types of autograft? with special emphasis on the clinical, radiographic, histological and ultrastructural results Mattias Lid?n Department of Orthopaedics, Institute of Clinical Sciences at Sahlgrenska Academy, University of Gothenburg, G?teborg, Sweden The aim of this study was to evaluate the long-term outcome after primary ACL reconstruction surgery using either BPTB or HT autografts and, in addition, ACL revision surgery using re-harvested patellar tendon autografts. Clinical and standard radiographic assessments were made of both the primary ACL-reconstructed knees and the patients who underwent ACL revision surgery using re-harvested patellar tendon autografts. 10. Exercise-induced muscle soreness : a qualitative and quantitative study of human muscle morphology and function
Sammanfattning : Exercise-induced muscle soreness is characterized by stiffness, tenderness and pain during active movements and weakness of the affected musculature the days after unusually or particularly heavy work. The most pronounced subjective symptoms do not arise immediately but rather between a couple of hours to some days after the exercise (a delayed-onset of muscle soreness), the intensity of pain is greatest about 48 hours after the work.
