  1. 1. Root surface conditioning in periodontal treatment

    Författare :Johan Blomlöf; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :citric acid; collagen; EDTL; etching; monkey; periodontal healing; periodolntitis; phosphoric acid; root planing; scanning electron microscopy; smearlayer; ultrasonic scaling; vitality. ISBN: 91-628-2646-8;

    Sammanfattning : Marginal periodontal healing following both invasive and non-invasive therapies is influenced by a large number of systemic and local factors. In order to optimize healing, a lot of effort is put into minimizing possible sources of infection both in performing different periodontal therapies as well as during the healing period. LÄS MER

  2. 2. On approaches to periodontal infection control

    Författare :Cristiano Tomasi; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : The purpose of the project was to gain understanding of clinical possibilities and applicability of non-surgical periodontal therapy. A clinical study was designed to compare a full-mouth ultrasonic debridement approach with the traditional approach of consecutive sessions of quadrant-wise scaling/root planing with respect to the clinical outcome and long term stability. 3. 3. Material and technique development for ultrasound optical tomography using spectral hole burning filters

    Författare :Alexander Bengtsson; NanoLund: Centre for Nanoscience; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Biomedical imaging; ultrasound optical tomography; acousto-optical tomography; rare-earth-ion doped crystals; spectral holeburning; slow light filters; Tm 3:LaF3; Fysicumarkivet A:2022:Bengtsson;

    Sammanfattning : The molecular sensitivity provided by optical photons has potential advantages in medical diagnostics, for example, in distinguishing healthy from cancerous tissue. However, scattering resulting from inhomogeneities in the refractive index of tissues prevents spatially resolved optical measurements in biological material, except at very shallow depths. LÄS MER
