  1. 1. Regulation and functions of basic helix-loop-helix transcription factors in neuroblastoma cells

    Författare :Paula Persson; Institutionen för translationell medicin; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; oncology; Cytology; Id; Olf EBF; ubiquilin-1; HASH-1; bHLH; Neuroblastoma; neuronal differentiation; cancer; onkologi; cancerology; Cytologi;

    Sammanfattning : Neuroblastoma is a childhood tumor derived from primordial neural crest cells. The tumor cells exhibit a phenotype similar to that of developing neuroblasts, which indicates that the tumor arises due to perturbed differentiation of the sympathetic nervous system. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Notch Signaling in Human Neuroblastoma Cells

    Författare :Marie Stockhausen; Institutionen för translationell medicin; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; oncology; Hes-1; Medicin människa och djur ; Medicine human and vertebrates ; hypoxia; TGF-alpha; EGFR; ERK1 2; Ras MAPK; differentiation; valproic acid; ubiquilin-1; neuroblastoma; Hash-1; Cytologi; onkologi; cancer; cancerology; Cytology; Notch;

    Sammanfattning : Neuroblastoma is a childhood tumor derived from the sympathetic nervous system (SNS). It is believed that the tumors arise from cells halted in their differentiation and due to their immature phenotype; they express proteins normally only detected during embryogenesis. One such protein is Hash-1, which is required for formation of the SNS. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Proteomic analysis of DNA damage induced stress signaling with focus on p53 : S100A6 regulation, function and potential as biomarker in lung cancer and as a novel therapeutic target

    Författare :Lukas Orre; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis powerful proteomics methods were used to reveal novel proteins involved in the cellular response to DNA damaging treatment. The goal was to find proteins with potential as biomarkers for prediction of cancer prognosis and response to cancer therapy, but also to find potential novel targets of cancer therapy. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Functional Studies of Deubiquitinating Enzymes

    Författare :Bin Zhao; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP;

    Sammanfattning : The attachment of ubiquitin to substrate proteins is a key process in regulating cellular events such as cell cycle progression, signal transduction, differentiation, apoptosis, and the clearance of misfolded or aberrant proteins. Like other post-translational modifications, ubiquitination is also reversible. LÄS MER
