  1. 1. Tyre/road interaction : A holistic approach to the functional requirements of road surfaces regarding noise and rolling resistance

    Författare :Tiago Vieira; Sigurdur Erlingsson; Ulf Sandberg; Tony Parry; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Road; surface; noise; rolling resistance; tyre; mitigation; Vägbeläggning; vägyta; textur; buller; rullmotstånd; däck; Building Materials; Byggnadsmaterial;

    Sammanfattning : Increased fuel consumption, increased greenhouse gas emission, diminishing real-estate prices and increased health issues are some of  the negative effects on the climate, on the environment and on the society from tyre/road rolling resistance and noise. The first two aspects are affected by energy dissipation in the tyre/pavement contact and are related to rolling resistance. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Truck tyre rolling resistance : Experimental testing and constitutive modelling of tyres

    Författare :Jukka Hyttinen; Lars Drugge; Jenny Jerrelind; James Busfield; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Truck tyre; PRF; filler reinforced rubber; ambient temperature; rubber testing; parametrisation; Finite-element simulation; Lastbildäck; PRF; gummi; förstärkande fyllmedel; effekt av omgivningstemperatur; gummiprovning; parametrisering; Vehicle and Maritime Engineering; Farkostteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Global warming sets a high demand to reduce the CO2 emissions of vehicles. In the European Union heavy-duty road transports account for 6 % of the total greenhouse gases and one of the main factors affecting these emissions is related to the rolling resistance of tyres. Sammanfattning : Efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from today’s increasing number of cars and trucks, are crucial in counteracting global warming. These efforts include the intent to reduce the effects of the resistive forces acting on the vehicle. Rolling resistance is one of these forces. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Tyre-road Interaction: a holistic approach to noise and rolling resistance

    Författare :Tiago Vieira; Sigurdur Erlingsson; Ulf Sandberg; Anders Genell; Hans Jonasson; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; pavement; surface; texture; noise; rolling resistance; tyre; Vägbeläggning; vägyta; textur; buller; rullmotstånd; däck; Byggvetenskap; Civil and Architectural Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Energy dissipation, fuel consumption, real-estate property prices and health issues are some of the aspects related to the tyre/pavement interaction and its functional properties of rolling resistance and noise. The first two aspects are affected by the tyre/road interaction as energy is dissipated mostly by hysteretic losses as the tyre is subjected to dynamic deformations when contacting the pavement surface. 5. 5. The simulation of car and truck tyre vibrations, rolling resistance and rolling noise

    Författare :Carsten Hoever; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []

    Sammanfattning : The road transportation sector places a severe burden on the environment in the form of CO2 emissions and road traffic noise. Both of these environmental prob- lems can be related to car and truck tyres. LÄS MER
