21. Personaliserad nutrition och etik : en empirisk studie av svenska konsumenters inställning till gentester för hälsans skull
Sammanfattning : Abstract In this thesis I address some of the ethical issues that arise in relation to consumers and personalised dietary advice made on the basis of genetic information. By carrying out two empirical studies, I wanted to find out what Swedish consumers think about personalised nutrition, and how they reason regarding risks, possible value conflicts, and benefits that may arise from implementing the concept. Sammanfattning : Can we be mistaken or ignorant about the meaning of our own words? This dissertation explores this question. More specifically it investigates to what extent and in what sense, if at all, the semantic meaning of religious and existentially important words – like ‘God’, ‘friendship’, ‘justice’ or ‘life’ – can be recognition-transcendent to the competent user of them. 25. Divine Suspense : On Kierkegaard's Frygt og Bæven and the Aesthetics of Suspense
Sammanfattning : What does it mean to feel suspense? What kinds of situations give rise to the emotion? What is the connection between suspense and narrativity? And how is it that we can feel suspense upon repeat encounters with the same narrative? These questions are at the center of the first part of this study, where I develop and defend the ‘imminence theory of suspense’. Central to this theory is the claim that suspense arises in situations defined by imminence, by the fact that they are structurally incomplete but geared toward their possible future completion: in other words, situations in which something of essence is imminent.
