  1. 1. Small and Large, Charged Molecules in Solution and at Interfaces

    Författare :Giulio Tesei; Beräkningskemi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; molecular modeling; MD simulations; statistical mechanics; SAXS; QCM-D; Hofmeister series; amyloid fibril; lipid bilayer; cell-penetrating peptide; molekylär modellering; MD simuleringar; MC simuleringar; statistisk mekanik; SAXS; QCM-D; amyloidfibriller; cellmembran; cellpenetrerande peptider;

    Sammanfattning : The influence of small and large, charged molecules on the properties of aqueous interfaces has important implications in chemistry, biology, and medicine. For example, at the surface of marine aerosols, the presence of halide anions and tropospheric gases gives way to multiphase chemical reactions affecting climate and air quality. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Nitrogen-containing products from atmospheric oxidation of volatile organic compounds

    Författare :Epameinondas Tsiligiannis; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; VOC; anthropogenic; biogenic; SOA; atmospheric oxidation; organic aerosols; CIMS; FIGAERO; TMB; isoprene; HOM; organonitrates ONs ; NOx; OH; nitrate NO3 ; Go:PAM; SAPHIR;

    Sammanfattning : Atmospheric oxidation of volatile organic compounds (VOC) produces a wide range of oxygenated organic products that lead to formation of secondary organic aerosol (SOA). SOA represents a significant fraction of the tropospheric aerosol that influence climate and human health. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Physical and Chemical Processes in the Formation of Biogenic secondary Organic Aerosols

    Författare :Åsa M. Jonsson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Tropospheric chemistry; monoterpenes; ozonolysis; secondary organic aerosol SOA ; G-FROST; AIDA; humidity; temperature; hydroxyl radicals; volatility; pinonaldehyde; climate and health;

    Sammanfattning : Vegetation emits a vast number of biogenic volatile organic compounds (BVOC). In the atmosphere they are oxidised, predominantly by O3, OH radicals or NO3 radicals, depending e.g. on chemical structure. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : The main objectives of this thesis were to investigate the dependency of European air pollution on climate variability and emission source region. Calculations with a chemistry transport model (CTM) were conducted to investigate the influence of climate variability. LÄS MER

  5. 5. The Tropospheric Aerosol - Measurements and Modelling. Case studies in Tanzania and Southeast Asia and development of models for size resolved aerosol simulations on the regional scale

    Författare :Cecilia Bennet; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Aerosol; PM; Source assignment; Chemical Transport Modelling; Model inter-comparison; Sea salt emissions and Aerosol dynamics;

    Sammanfattning : The tropospheric aerosol is a complex constituent of the atmosphere that has impacts on health and the climate. This thesis presents five different studies from Tanzania, Southeast Asia and Europe dealing with urban measurements of particle mass and elemental composition, regional scale modelling of ozone and particle mass of inorganic aerosols and development of modules for sea salt emissions and size resolved aerosol particles with aerosol dynamical mechanisms implemented in a regional scale chemistry and transport model (CTM).
