  1. 1. Ion beam etching of InP based materials

    Författare :Carl-Fredrik Carlström; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :InP; dry etching; ion beam etching; RIBE; CAIBE; hydrocarbon chemistry; trimethylamine; As P exchange reaction; morphology; low damage; AFM; SCM; annealing;

    Sammanfattning : Dry etching is an important technique for pattern transferin fabrication of most opto-electronic devices, since it canprovide good control of both structure size and shape even on asub-micron scale. Unfortunately, this process step may causedamage to the material which is detrimental to deviceperformance. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Polyphenols in Swedish berries and pulses : Characterization and in vivo effects of fractions from lingonberries and brown beans in an Apoe-/- mouse model

    Författare :Jiyun Liu; Cornelia Witthöft; Anne-Maria Pajari; Linnéuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; lingonberry; brown bean; flavonoids; phenolic acids; dietary fiber; HPLC-UV MS; atherosclerotic plaque; plasma lipid; gut microbiota; short-chain fatty acids; trimethylamine N-oxide; Apoe- - mice; lingon; bruna bönor; flavonoider; fenolsyror; kostfiber; HPLCUV MS; aterosklerotisk plaketter; plasmalipid; tarm-mikrobiota; kortkedjiga fettsyror; trimetylamin N-oxid; Apoe- - möss; Livsmedelsvetenskap; Food Science;

    Sammanfattning : Consumption of berries and pulses can protect against atherosclerosis and other metabolic diseases, by modulating plasma lipid profile, gut microbiota, and microbiota-dependent metabolites. These nutritional benefits are often attributed to high content of polyphenols (flavonoids and phenolic acids) and dietary fiber. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Disease-causing Keratin Mutations and Cytoskeletal Dysfunction in Human Skin : In vitro Models and new Pharmacologic Strategies for Treating Epidermolytic Genodermatoses

    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; epidermolysis bullosa simplex; epidermolytic ichthyosis; genodermatoses; keratin; keratin mutation; keratinocytes; gene therapy; pharmacological therapy; immortalization; gene regulation; trimethylamine N-oxide TMAO ; sodium 4-phenylbutyrate 4-PBA ; tissue engineering; cell culture; heat shock proteins; MAP kinases; Dermatology and venerology; Dermatologi och venerologi; Dermatologi och venereologi; Dermatology and Venerology;

    Sammanfattning : Epidermolysis bullosa simplex (EBS) and epidermolytic ichthyosis (EI) are rare skin fragility diseases characterized by intra-epidermal blistering due to autosomal dominant-negative mutations in basal (KRT5 or KRT14) and suprabasal (KRT1 or KRT10) keratin genes,  respectively. Despite vast knowledge in the disease pathogenesis, the pathomechanisms are not fully understood, and no effective remedies exist. LÄS MER
