1. New aspects of physical work load as a risk factor for musculoskeletal disorders
Sammanfattning : ABSTRACT This study investigated new aspects of physical load factors as risk factors for musculoskeletal disorders among industrial employees. The following issues were in focus: the effect of physical work load and job experience on morbidity from musculoskeletal disorders, the incidence rates and induction times for these disorders, and the triggering factors for incident low back pain. 2. Ribosome Associated Factors Recruited for Protein Export and Folding
Sammanfattning : Protein folding and export to the membrane are crucial events in the cell. Both processes may be initiated already at the ribosome, assisted by factors that bind to the polypeptide as it emerges from the ribosome. LÄS MER
3. Proteostasis in Bacillus subtilis : chaperones and stress-response mechanisms
Sammanfattning : The maintenance of protein homeostasis, also referred to as proteostasis, is essential for preserving the structural and functional stability of the proteome in living organisms. This involves the precise control of protein synthesis, folding, and degradation. LÄS MER
4. Hypoxia inducible factor 1alpha : molecular mechanisms of regulation
Sammanfattning : Hypoxia-Inducible Factor 1alpha (HIF-1alpha) is an important protein in the homeostatic control of genes in response to low oxygen, or hypoxia. It is thus also a key factor in the regulation of angiogenesis in response to hypoxia, including induction of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) gene expression. LÄS MER
5. Role of Heparan Sulfate Structure in FGF-Receptor Interactions and Signaling
Sammanfattning : Heparan sulfate (HS) belongs to the glycosaminoglycan family of polysaccharides and is found attached to protein cores on cell surfaces and in the extracellular matrix. The HS backbone consists of alternating hexuronic acid and glucosamine units and undergoes a number of modification reactions creating HS chains with alternating highly and low modified domains, where high degree of modification correlates with high negative charge.
