  1. 1. Obsessive-compulsive disorder, serotonin and oxytocin : treatment response and side effects

    Författare :Mats B. Humble; Ingemar Engström; Lars von Knorring; Lars Kjellin; Lil Träskman-Bendz; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Adverse effects; Obsessive-compulsive disorder; Orgasm; Oxytocin; Randomised controlled trial; Rating scale; Response prediction; Serotonin; Serotonin uptake inhibitors; Sexual function; Psychiatry; Psykiatri;

    Sammanfattning : Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), with a prevalence of 1-2 %, frequently leads a chronic course. Persons with OCD are often reluctant to seek help and, if they do, their OCD is often missed. This is unfortunate, since active treatment may substantially improve social function and quality of life. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Long-term treatment response, predictors and biochemical markers in Alzheimer’s disease

    Författare :Åsa Wallin; Klinisk minnesforskning; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; treatment response; cholinesterase inhibitor; CSF-biomarkers; pre-treatment progression; predictors; Alzheimer’s disease;

    Sammanfattning : Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is clinically characterised by an insidious onset with progressive symptoms of memory impairment, dysphasia, dyspraxia, dygnosia and visuospatial difficulties. Degeneration of neurons in specific regions of the brain, formation of senile plaques and neurofibrillary changes are some of the neuropathological features of the disease. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Cell cycle alterations and 11q13 amplification in breast cancer : prediction of adjuvant treatment response

    Författare :Marie Ahnström Waltersson; Olle Stål; Marie-Louise Fjällskog; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Sammanfattning : The growth and development of the breast is to a large extent regulated by oestrogens through the oestrogen receptor (ER). Activation of the ERα triggers transcription of genes that are important for cell proliferation and stimulates entry into the G1 phase of the cell cycle. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Measure for measure. Outcome assessment of arthritis treatment in clinical practice

    Författare :Anders Gülfe; Reumatologi och molekylär skelettbiologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; TNF blockade; rheumatoid arthritis; utility; treatment continuation; agreement; health related quality of life; Outcome; response; psoriatic arthritis; spondyloarthritis; disease activity; observational study;

    Sammanfattning : Objective: To investigate (i) the performance and agreement between various activity indices and response criteria in TNF-blockade of RA; (ii) the predictive ability of different response criteria and disease activity states regarding continuation of anti-TNF treatment of RA; (iii) Euro-QoL-5-dimensions utility development during TNF blockade of RA, PsA and SpA. Also, (iv) to develop a simple, utility-based outcome measure, the number needed to treat per quality adjusted life year gained (NNQ) and apply it in RA, PsA and SpA patients on anti-TNF treatment. 5. 5. Application of aerobic granular sludge for municipal wastewater treatment - Process performance and microbial community dynamics under fluctuating conditions

    Författare :Jennifer Ekholm; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; energy usage; aerobic granular sludge; sequencing batch reactors; granulation; municipal wastewater treatment; nutrient removal; start-up; microbial community dynamics; full-scale operation; low temperature; activated sludge;

    Sammanfattning : Pressures of growing cities, competition for use of urban areas and higher influent loads, are pushing for innovative technologies for wastewater treatment with low demands for land footprint and costs. Furthermore, wastewater treatment is needed to move towards a circular economy by harvest of valuable resources such as nutrients and energy. LÄS MER
