11. Autonomic nervous system regulation in chronic neck-shoulder pain : Relations to physical activity and perceived stress
Sammanfattning : Neck-shoulder pain (NSP) is a highly prevalent musculoskeletal disorder with unclear causes, and effective prevention and treatment require a further understanding of the underlying mechanisms. Aberrant autonomic nervous system (ANS) regulation is a hypothesized causal element in the development and maintenance of chronic muscle pain. LÄS MER
12. The impact of visually demanding near work on neck/shoulder discomfort and trapezius muscle activity : Laboratory studies
Sammanfattning : Introduction: Musculoskeletal discomfort in the neck and shoulders is common among workers performing visually demanding near work, e.g., on a computer screen, and sustained low-level muscle activity during such work can lead to work-related pain. LÄS MER
13. Effects of low-load repetitive work and mental load on sensitising substances and metabolism in the trapezius muscle
Sammanfattning : Low-load repetitive work (LLRW) and mental load are important risk factors for the development of workrelated muscle pain. The link between these risk factors and the development of pain is still not understood, but stimulation of chemo-sensitive receptors in the muscle probably plays an important role. LÄS MER
14. Strength training and anabolic steroids : a comparative study of the vastus lateralis, a thigh muscle and the trapezius, a shoulder muscle, of strength-trained athletes

15. Masseter muscle pain and its relation to pain mediators in fibromyalgia and local myalgia
Sammanfattning : The aim of this investigation was to study chronic jaw muscle pain in fibromyalgia, local myalgia and healthy individuals in relation to the pain mediators PGE2, LTB4 and NPY and to study the effects of glucocorticoid administration and repetitive isometric contraction. A questionnaire showed presence of symptoms from the temporomandibular region in almost all fibromyalgia patients and the local pain was correlated to the general pain but on a lower level. LÄS MER
