  1. 1. Foliated Transportation Networks - Evaluating feasibility and potential

    Författare :Joakim Kalantari; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; hybrid transportation systems; transportation network modeling; intelligent transportation systems.; transportation planning and control; transportation network simulation; transportation network optimization; Transportation networks; transportation network performance; mixed model transportation; transportation network efficiency;

    Sammanfattning : Neither the critical role that transportation plays for economic activities nor its negative external effects can be denied. At the same time, the resources required to sustain and develop the transportation system to an adequate degree and at the required pace are limited. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Foliated Transportation Networks - Exploring feasibility and potential

    Författare :Joakim Kalantari; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; transportation network modeling; hybrid transportation systems; transportation network optimization; transportation network simulation; transportation planning and control; Transportation networks; mixed model transportation;

    Sammanfattning : In transportation systems in general the issue of overcapacity coupled with low resource utilization has been identified for some time now. It has also been shown that the growth in transportation demand in the past is not absorbed by the existing overcapacity; rather the low levels of resource utilization are maintained. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Optimization and Control in Dynamical Network Systems

    Författare :Håkan Terelius; Karl Henrik Johansson; Alexandre Proutiere; Giacomo Como; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Optimization; Networks; Transportation; Electrical Engineering; Elektro- och systemteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Dynamical network systems are complex interconnected systems useful to describe many real world problems. The advances in information technology has led the current trend towards connecting more and more systems, creating "intelligent" systems, where the intelligence originates in the scale and complexity of the network. 4. 4. On Robust Distributed Control of Transportation Networks

    Författare :Gustav Nilsson; Institutionen för reglerteknik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Traffic Signal Control; Distributed Control; Routing; Transportation Networks; Network Flows;

    Sammanfattning : With the ever-growing traffic demands, the transportation networks are getting more and more congested. While expanding these networks with more roads is both costly and in many cities not even feasible, the rapid development of new sensing and communication techniques has made it possible to perform control of transportation networks in real-time. 5. 5. Efficient commuter craft for urban waterborne public transportation

    Författare :Harsha Cheemakurthy; Karl Garme; Joakim Kalantari; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; waterborne public transportation; commuter ferry; modular design; operational requirements; ranking method; sustainable performance; ice operations; ice-hull Interaction; ice load; ice properties; kollektivtrafik på vatten; modulärt färjekoncept; modulär design; rankningsmetod; hållbarhetsparametrar; isbelastning; isförhållanden; isegenskaper; Vehicle and Maritime Engineering; Farkostteknik;

    Sammanfattning : There has been a recent surge in interest in waterborne public transportation (WPT). Publictransport providers (PTP) are seeing its potential in complementing the existing transportnetwork and alleviating urban traffic congestion and pollution. But the adoption of WPTtoday is challenging due to a series of technical and implementation challenges. LÄS MER
