16. Aerodynamic Investigation of Leading Edge Contouring and External Cooling on a Transonic Turbine Vane
Sammanfattning : Efficiency improvement in turbomachines is an important aspect in reducing the use of fossil-based fuel and thereby reducing carbon dioxide emissions in order to achieve a sustainable future. Gas turbines are mainly fossil-based turbomachines powering aviation and land-based power plants. LÄS MER
17. Investigation of boundary layer transition for transonic flow over compressor and turbine airfoils
Sammanfattning : This thesis considers the laminar-turbulent transition overcompressor and turbine airfoils at high subsonic and transonicflow conditions.First, experiments on the laminar-turbulent transition on anisolated airfoil in high subsonic and transonic flow wereperformed. LÄS MER
18. Large eddy simulation of transonic flow with shock wave/turbulent boundary layer interaction
Sammanfattning : Large eddy simulations (LES) of shock wave/turbulent boundary layer interaction (SWTBLI) have been carried out. The flow configuration was that of transonic flow over a bump with inlet Mach number 0.75 and maximum Mach number 1.27. LÄS MER
19. Numerical and Experimental study of shock boundary layer interaction in unsteady transonic flow
Sammanfattning : A prerequisite for aeroelastic stability prediction inturbomachines is the understanding of the fluctuatingaerodynamic forces acting on the blades. Unsteady transonicflows are complex because of mutual interactions betweentravelling pressure waves, outlet disturbances, shock motion, and fluctuating turbulent boundary layers. LÄS MER
20. Modeling Unsteady flow Effects in 3D Throughflow Calculations
Sammanfattning : The flow field in a transonic multistage compressor is compressible, three-dimensional and highly unsteady and can be predicted in principle by the exact time-accurate Navier-Stokes equations. The high Reynolds number encountered in multistage turbomachinery together with the wall-bounded nature of the flow environment however prevent the use of DNS to solve the exact N-S equations. LÄS MER
