  1. 1. The Teddy Bear in Psychology : A prospective study with focus on children´s use of transitional objects

    Författare :Margareta Viberg; Institutionen för psykologi; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Psychiatry; clinical psychology; psychosomatics; Development psychology; parent interview; child interview; development; follow up; pacifier use; thumbsucking; breast feeding; transitional object; transitional phenomenon; Psykiatri; psykosomatik; Utvecklingspsykologi; klinisk psykologi;

    Sammanfattning : The central issue of the dissertation is the place and meaning of the concepts transitional object (TO) and transitional phenomenon (TP) as defined by Winnicott, in a normal psychological context. A group of children were followed from age 8 months to 6 years. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Transitional flow in ordered porous media

    Författare :Tobias Forslund; Staffan Lundström; Sofia Larsson; Gunnar Hellström; Krishna Pillai; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Porous media; Lattice Boltzmann Method; GPU Programming; Tomographic PIV; Laser Doppler Velocimetry; Strömningslära; Fluid Mechanics;

    Sammanfattning : Porous media, here defined as any permeable structure allowing a fluid to flow through, are relevant to a multitude of engineering applications and natural processes. The observed macroscopic properties of the porous media such as mixing, heat transfer and apparent permeability are properties which are affected by the flow and especially the type of flow, or flow region. 3. 3. Space-adaptive simulation of transition and turbulence in shear flows

    Författare :Daniele Massaro; Philipp Schlatter; Saleh Rezaeiravesh; Alfredo Pinelli; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Turbulence; global stability; coherent structures; adaptive mesh refinement; Turbulens; global stabilitet; koherenta strukturer; adaptiv nätförfining; Teknisk mekanik; Engineering Mechanics;

    Sammanfattning : Transitional and turbulent shear flows are ubiquitous, from the boundary layer developing on an aeroplane wing to the flow within the aortic arch. In this thesis, we study wall-bounded and free shear flows through direct numerical simulations. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Dynamics of some vibro-impacting systems with amplitude constraints

    Författare :Jan-Olov Aidanpää; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Hållfasthetslära; Solid Mechanics; Datorstödd maskinkonstruktion; Computer Aided Design;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis concerns the dynamics of some vibro-impacting systems with fixed or moving amplitude constraints. It is based on and includes five papers, marked A to E. Simple models of three different vibro-impacting systems with applications in the fields of impact hammers, granular flow and disk brakes in vehicles are analysed. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Ordinary people, meaningful pasts – Negotiating narratives in public pedagogical spaces of family history research

    Författare :Karen Ann Blom; Tobias Samuelsson; Carl-Johan Svensson; Åsa Nilsson Dahlström; Jerome De Groot; Jönköping University; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; family history; public pedagogy; public history; historical consciousness; significance; narrative; banal; use of history; participant perspectives; Sweden; släktforskning; public pedagogy; pedagogik; offentlig historia; historiemedvetande; betydelse; narrativ; banal; historiebruk; deltagarperspektiv; Sverige;

    Sammanfattning : This dissertation examines three family history research experiences as public pedagogical spaces, analysing the narratives presented and participants’ negotiations with these. In the context of enhanced digitalisation and rapidly developing technologies, disturbances in the form of pandemics, hackers, and wars remind us of the instability of the present, raising existential questions and reinforcing the desire to anchor oneself in the past.
