  1. 16. On the road to climate neutral Swedish transportation: Energy system modelling to support the transition at national, regional, and local levels

    Författare :Jonas Forsberg; Anna Krook-Riekkola; Andrea Toffolo; Åsa Lindman; Hannah E. Daly; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Energy transition; Energy system modelling; TIMES-City; TIMES-Sweden; Transportation; Decarbonisation; Climate mitigation; Energiteknik; Energy Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Transportation is a critical pillar of modern society. Over the past decades, growth in mobility of people and goods have been both enabled by and dependent upon fossil fuels. Strong action is needed to break this dependence in order to reduce CO2. LÄS MER

  2. 17. Effects of Negative Pressure Wound Therapy on Perivascular Groin Infections after Vascular Surgery. Wound Healing, Cost-Effectiveness and Patient-Reported Outcome

    Författare :Christina Monsen; Vaskulära sjukdomar - kliniska studier; []
    Nyckelord :Negative Pressure Wound Therapy NPWT ; Vacuum Assisted Closure; Surgical site infections; Groin; Quality of Life; Pain; Resource use; Cost-effectiveness; Content Analysis;

    Sammanfattning : Abstract Background: Surgical site infection (SSI) in the groin after vascular surgery is common and deep perivascular infection leads to long periods of hospitalization, sometimes to amputation and/or death. Negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) is increasingly used for treating wounds such as deep perivascular groin infections after vascular surgery, but there is no scientific evidence supporting its benefit over traditional wound therapy. 3. 18. Wind turbine simulations using spectral elements

    Författare :Elektra Kleusberg; Dan Henningson; Philipp Schlatter; Stefan Ivanell; Johan Meyers; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; wind turbine; wakes; wake interaction; computational fluid dynamics; actuator line method; spectral elements; free-stream turbulence; Engineering Mechanics; Teknisk mekanik;

    Sammanfattning : Understanding the flow around wind turbines is a highly relevant research question due to the increased interest in harvesting energy from renewable sources. This thesis approaches the topic by means of numerical simulations using the actuator line method and the incompressible Navier–Stokes equations in the spectral element code Nek5000. LÄS MER

  4. 19. Rough starts and tough times : geographies of workers and firms in transition

    Författare :Therese Danley; Rikard Eriksson; Urban Lindgren; Emma Lundholm; Neil Lee; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; agglomerations; job matching; human capital; plant closure; firm survival;

    Sammanfattning : Economic change can lead to multiple and sometimes conflicting outcomes for workers, employers, and regions. At the center of economic change are the dynamic interactions among diverse workers and firms in specific labor market contexts. LÄS MER

  5. 20. Exploring the future low-carbon electricity system: impacts of nuclear power and demand patterns

    Författare :Xiaoming Kan; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; net system cost; electricity supply mix; Low-carbon electricity system; variable renewable energy; nuclear power; electricity system cost; demand pattern; energy system modeling;

    Sammanfattning : To achieve the climate goals set by the Paris Agreement, the global electricity system is expected to transition towards a low-carbon electricity system. The future low-carbon electricity system is uncertain regarding both generation and demand. LÄS MER
