11. Traffic-related pollutants in urban snow : Concentrations, size fractionation, and release with snowmelt
Sammanfattning : In urban areas with seasonal snow, traffic-related pollutants such as solid particles, metals, chloride, organic pollutants, and microplastics (MPs) can be temporarily stored in snowbanks along roads and streets. When the snow melts, it releases the accumulated pollutants and the resulting snowmelt with diverse pollutants may partly infiltrate into the ground, or enter storm sewers and eventually be discharged into, and impact on, the receiving waters. 12. SiC Varactors for Dynamic Load Modulation of Microwave Power Amplifiers
Sammanfattning : The rapid consumer adoption of mobile services is leading to an exponential growth in wireless data traffic. In order to accommodate more concurrent high data-rate users, the required complexity of transmitting radio base station (RBS) power amplifiers (PAs) is increasing. LÄS MER
13. On Ground and Structural Vibrations Related to Railway Traffic
Sammanfattning : The continuous development and integration of railway infrastructure, especially within urban areas, can cause ground and building vibrations to reach levels that bring discomfort to people. The growing risk of damage to buildings located in areas prone to ground vibration should not be underestimated. LÄS MER

Sammanfattning : The aim of this PhD thesis was to investigate traffic safety and mobility for individuals with hearing loss (HL). Three studies were conducted: 1. a questionnaire survey aimed to evaluate differences in choice of transportation that might be related to HL, 2. LÄS MER
15. Traffic Control for VBR Video in Packet Switched Networks
Sammanfattning : The best effort service offered by the Internet is notsatisfactory for the transmission of loss and delay sensitivedata, such as real-time voice and video. In order to provideservice guarantees at reasonably high load levels, additionalcontrol functions haveto be employed in the network. LÄS MER
