    Sammanfattning : Increasingly stringent controls on metal concentrations in sewage sludge destined for agricultural application provided a basis for the study of the relevance of metal speciation in sewage sludge. A comprehensive literature review identified difficulties in relating metal speciation through single chemical extractions to plant uptake and soil toxicity. LÄS MER

Antibiotics comprise a group of pharmaceuticals specifically designed to disrupt microbial biochemical processes, and might therefore in particular have detrimental effects on microbial communities in the environment.     Sammanfattning : Topical treatment of several inner ear diseases through the round window membrane (RWM) might be feasible in the near future. Bacteria toxins, ototoxic drugs and noise trauma seem to harm the inner ear by a common pathway which involves, excessive outflow of the afferent neurotransmitter glutamate and formation of nitric oxide (NO), which can severely damage cells/nerve endings and lead to cell death.
