11. Influence of microstructure on fatigue and ductility properties of tool steels
Sammanfattning : Fatigue and ductility properties in various tool steels, produced by powder metallurgy, spray forming or conventionally ingot casting, have been analysed experimentally and successfully compared to developed models. The models are able to predict the fatigue limit and cause for fatigue fracture, and strain- and stress-development until fracture during the ductile fracture process respectively. LÄS MER
12. Mechanical Properties, Microstructures and Defects of Tool Steels Fabricated by Additive Manufacturing
Sammanfattning : Additive Manufacturing (AM) has been gaining significant interest in the manufacturing of metallic materials in the recent years. From a techno-commercial standpoint, tooling is one of the areas with low production volumes but very high demands on part performance and complexity in design, all of which are characteristic for metal AM. 13. On the hot crack formation during solidification of iron-base alloys
Sammanfattning : Hot cracking during solidification is a severe problem inmany casting processes, for example in continuous casting.Combinations of low strength and low ductility of the materialat high temperatures and applied tensile stress can cause hotcracking. LÄS MER
14. On the Machinability of High Performance Tool Steels
Sammanfattning : The continuous development of hot forming tool steels has resulted in steels with improved mechanical properties. A change in alloying composition, primarily a decreased silicon content, makes them tougher and more wear resistant at elevated temperatures. However, it is at the expense of their machinability. 15. Toughness of Tool Steel
Sammanfattning : Toughness is the ability to resist tensile stresses in the presence of a notch or crack. Sometimes gross cracking of industrial tools, mould or dies, occurs due to insufficient toughness. As the economic consequences of the gross cracking are serious, the toughness of industrial tool material, generally tool steel, is of paramount importance. LÄS MER
