1. Tolerance Analysis Framework for Cutting Tool Interface Design
Sammanfattning : Tolerance analysis of cutting tool interface designs is a field with many opportunities for further development of existing methodologies. Cutting tool interface designs require multiple contacting surfaces, allocating the stress generated from the cutting forces, to avoid excessive deformation of the interface. LÄS MER
2. Managing Effects of Manufacturing Variation in Dental Medical Device Treatments - Increasing Geometrical Robustness
Sammanfattning : Today, there are many solutions for dental rehabilitation. A damaged tooth can be replaced with a dental crown, and a toothless patient can be rehabilitated with implants and a corresponding bridge set-up. Traditionally, a dental crown is manufactured by veneering porcelain to a metal surface that is obtained through the use of casting principles. LÄS MER
3. Managing Geometrical Variation through Optimization and Visualization
Sammanfattning : All manufacturing processes are afflicted by variation that causes deviations in critical dimensions in the final product. Geometrical variation results in form and size deviation in individual parts. Assembly variation comes from defects in assembly equipment, and influence how parts are mounted together. LÄS MER
4. Towards improvement of geometrical quality for manual assembly parts
Sammanfattning : Geometrical variation affects all mass-produced products. This variation will lead to deviations from the nominal design of the product both in terms of aesthetical and functional properties. Geometrical variation originates either from the manufacturing of the parts or from the assembly process. LÄS MER
5. Pharmacometrics Modelling in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus : Implications on Study Design and Diabetes Disease Progression
Sammanfattning : Pharmacometric modelling is widely used in many aspects related to type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), for instance in the anti-diabetes drug development, and in quantifying the disease progression of T2DM.The aim of this thesis were to improve the design of early phase anti-diabetes drug development studies with the focus on the power to identify mechanism of drug action (MoA), and to characterize and quantify the progression from prediabetes to overt diabetes, both the natural progression and the progression with diet and exercise interventions, using pharmacometrics modelling.
