  1. 1. Tissue Perfusion and Oxygenation Evaluated by Measurements of Tissue Gases and pH. An Experiemental Study

    Författare :Åke Mellström; Anestesiologi och intensivvård; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; intensive care; Anestesiologi; intensivvård; Anaesthesiology; Tissue pH; Tissue PCO2; Oxygen utilization; Tissue PO2;

    Sammanfattning : Optimum peripheral perfusion, oxygenation and oxygen utilization is a prerequisite for normal wound healing, resistance to infection and cardiac function. The purpose of this study was to evaluate peripheral oxygen utilization by measurements of subcutaneous tissue gases and pH (PscO2, PscCO2 and pHsc) in comparison to established techniques for measurements of periph-eral tissue oxygenation and oxygen utilization in experimental animal models with hyperoxia-hypoxia, acidosis-alkalosis and haemorrhage-resuscitation. 2. 2. Computerized Cell and Tissue Analysis

    Författare :Azadeh Fakhrzadeh; Gunilla Borgefors; Cris Luengo Hendriks; Lena Holm; Nasir Rajpoot; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Image processing; Cell; Tissue; Segmentation; Classification; Histology; Computerized Image Processing; Datoriserad bildbehandling;

    Sammanfattning : The latest advances in digital cameras combined with powerful computer software enable us to store high-quality microscopy images of specimen. Studying hundreds of images manually is very time consuming and has the problem of human subjectivity and inconsistency. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Background: Despite advances in the treatment of atherosclerosis, cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death worldwide. With the population getting older and more obese, the burden of cardiovascular disease may further increase. LÄS MER

  4. 4. New methods for evaluation of tissue creping and the importance of coating, paper and adhesion

    Författare :Jonna Boudreau; Christophe Barbier; Ulf Germgård; Sverker Albertsson; Robert Pelton; Karlstads universitet; []
    Nyckelord :ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; tissue; creping; paper adhesion; Tissue paper; creping; paper adhesion; coating layer; adhesives; Yankee cylinder; crepe structure; wavelength measurements; Chemical Engineering; Kemiteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The creping process and the conditions on the Yankee cylinder dryer are key factors in a tissue paper mill, and they therefore need to be kept under good control in order to maintain a high and uniform quality. To this end it would be valuable to be able to make on-line measurements of Yankee coating thickness as well as the crepe structure of the tissue paper. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Evaluation of Myocardial Function in Chronic Kidney Disease : A Colour Tissue Velocity Imaging Study

    Författare :Shirley Hayashi; Lars-Åke Brodin; Svend Aakhus; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :Cardiac; Kidney; Tissue; Velocity; MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Sammanfattning : In patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD), overhydration, uremic toxins and left ventricular (LV) dyssynchrony are factors that may lead to LV dysfunction and conduction abnormalities and thus contribute to the high cardiac mortality. Colour tissue velocity imaging (TVI) allows a detailed quantitative analysis of cardiac function in CKD patients, opening new possibilities to evaluate longitudinal myocardial motion, rapid isovolumetric events, LV filling pressure and LV synchronicity.
