  1. 1. Timetable Analysis based on Social Cost and Simulation

    Författare :Jennifer Warg; Markus Bohlin; Oskar Fröidh; Carl-William Palmqvist; Paola Pellegrini; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Railway capacity allocation; timetable analysis; social costs; microscopic railway simulation; macroscopic railway simulation; passengers; timetable performance; early departing freight trains; Järnvägskapacitet; tidtabellsanalys; sociala kostnader; mikroskopisk järnvägssimulering; makroskopisk järnvägssimulering; resande; tidtabellseffektivitet; tidiga godståg; Transportsystem; Transport Systems;

    Sammanfattning : The timetable is essential for railway traffic. Its design affects rail operations – and by extension all operators, passengers, and freight clients. International practice for capacity allocation varies and there is no common algorithm for designing and evaluating timetable changes. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Constructing a timetable of autumn senescence in aspen

    Författare :Johanna Keskitalo; Stefan Jansson; Howard Thomas; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Populus tremula; autumn senescence; senescence-associated genes; cellular timetable; transcriptional timetable; cDNA microarrays; EST sequencing; Plant physiology; Växtfysiologi;

    Sammanfattning : During the development and lifecycle of multicellular organisms, cells have to die, and this occurs by a process called programmed cell death or PCD, which can be separated from necrosis or accidental cell death (Pennell and Lamb, 1997). Senescence is the terminal phase in the development of an organism, organ, tissue or cell, where nutrients are remobilized from the senescing parts of the plant into other parts, and the cells of the senescing organ or tissue undergo PCD if the process is not reversed in time. 3. 3. Timetable evaluation with focus on quality for travellers

    Författare :Jennifer Warg; Markus Bohlin; Olsson Nils; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Capacity evaluation; railway simulation; economic assessment; delays; timetable analysis; Transportvetenskap; Transport Science;

    Sammanfattning : Punctuality and reliability are important for travellers. Railway lines with heterogeneous and dense traffic have proved to be prone to generate delays. Faster services and increased traffic have to be counterbalanced with measures for increased reliability. Efficient timetable planning can improve the use of such lines. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Essays on the economics of education and health

    Författare :Iman Dadgar; Karin Edmark; Matthew Lindquist; Andreea Mitrut; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; education; ordinal rank; decentralization; timetable; accident mortality; heart-disease mortality; unemployment; GDP; Economics; nationalekonomi;

    Sammanfattning : Study I: This paper investigates the effect of the academic ordinal rank position of Swedish grade 9 students relative to their school peers on future educational achievement and adult earnings. The results show evidence of a positive impact of being more highly ranked in the class, and the effects are concentrated to the top and the bottom of the ordinal rank distribution. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Delays and Timetabling for Passenger Trains

    Författare :Carl-William Palmqvist; Trafik och väg; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; rail; delay; timetable; train; punctuality; Rail transportation;

    Sammanfattning : Travel by train has increased steadily in Sweden the last 30 years. The pace has been about two to three percent per year, and we now have twice as many passengers. With growing awareness of the changing climate, the pace is increasing further. A problem that affects both passengers and businesses in Sweden is train delays. LÄS MER
