  1. 11. Machine Learning Survival Models : Performance and Explainability

    Författare :Abdallah Alabdallah; Mattias Ohlsson; Thorsteinn Rögnvaldsson; Sepideh Pashami; Erik Frisk; Högskolan i Halmstad; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Survival Analysis; Explainable Artificial Intelligence; Survival Patterns; Counterfactual Explanations; Evaluation Metrics; Concordance Index;

    Sammanfattning : Survival analysis is an essential statistics and machine learning field in various critical applications like medical research and predictive maintenance. In these domains understanding models' predictions is paramount. LÄS MER

  2. 12. Computational Models of Eye Movements in Reading : A Data-Driven Approach to the Eye-Mind Link

    Författare :Mattias Nilsson; Joakim Nivre; John Hale; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Computational Linguistics; Datorlingvistik;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis investigates new methods for understanding eye movement behavior in reading based on the use of eye tracking corpora and data-driven modeling. Eye movement behavior is characterized by two basic, generally unconscious, decisions: where and when to move the eyes. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Oral eflornithine treatment of late-stage human African trypanosomiasis

    Författare :Mikael Boberg; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Sleeping Sickness; Neglected Tropical Diseases; Enantiomers; Nonlinear Mixed Effects Modeling; Pharmacokinetics; Pharmacodynamics;

    Sammanfattning : Human African trypanosomiasis is a fatal disease unless treated. It is a parasitic vector borne disease endemic in sub-Saharan African countries. Eflornithine is a recommended treatment for gambiense human African trypanosomiasis (g-HAT) in the later disease stage when the parasites have infected the central nervous system. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Psychological distress in coronary heart disease : Risk indicators, treatment and cardiovascular prognosis

    Författare :Fredrika Norlund; Claes Held; Erik Olsson; Petra Lindfors; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; psychological distress; myocardial infarction; coronary heart disease; depression; anxiety; stress; cognitive behavioral therapy; iCBT; stress management; cardiac rehabilitation; Psychology; Psykologi;

    Sammanfattning : The aims of this thesis were to: (1) explore factors associated with emotional distress; (2) investigate psychosocial stress as a risk factor for cardiovascular (CV) morbidity in patients with coronary heart disease (CHD); (3) investigate the impact of group-based stress management on psychological outcomes, and if that mediates risk of CV events; and (4) evaluate an internet-based cognitive behavioral therapy (iCBT) for emotional distress in patients with a recent myocardial infarction (MI).In Study I, data from the national registry SWEDEHEART on 27,267 MI patients < 75 years was used. 5. 15. A Microdata Analysis Approach to Transport Infrastructure Maintenance

    Författare :Kristin Svenson; Lars Rönnegård; Karin Edvardsson; Nasir Gharaibeh; Högskolan Dalarna; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Transport Infrastructure Asset Management; Transport Infrastructure Maintenance; Statistical Modeling; Microdata Analysis; Complex Systems – Microdata Analysis; Komplexa system - mikrodataanalys;

    Sammanfattning : Maintenance of transport infrastructure assets is widely advocated as the key in minimizing current and future costs of the transportation network. While effective maintenance decisions are often a result of engineering skills and practical knowledge, efficient decisions must also account for the net result over an asset's life-cycle. LÄS MER
