Detta görs genom att studera hur övergången från förskoleklass till årskurs ett markeras genom olika aktiviteter och de processer i vilka barn tillsammans med andra barn, lärare och kontext skapar mening kring övergången.     Sammanfattning : Sweden has for many years suffered from a shortage of teachers appropriately trained to teach English to young learners. In 1987 The Swedish National Agency for Higher Education decided that English should no longer be a compulsory subject within primary teacher training, instead it was offered as an optional subject within the primary teacher training programmes This policy decision had dire consequences and ultimately led to the current position which sees a mere 30 % of trainee Teachers opting for the English language pathway.     Sammanfattning : The main purpose of this thesis is to focus on the children, by investigating whether various organisation models, integrated, interactiv and mixed co-operation, for co-operation between teachers and recreation instructors showed differences in regard to the children's development, well-being, and ability to absorb knowledge. Did various co-operation models for school/day centre affect the children's school performance, peer and adult relationship, well-being, and general school and day centre experiences? Were there any differences related to the school and living areas? Were there any differences between children with day centre experience, and those who had none when it comes to school subjects, school performance, well-being, self-confidence, and relations with friends?     Sammanfattning : The overall aim of this doctoral thesis is to study communication work among personnel in Swedish pre-schools, with a particular focus on mediated communication with parents. The purpose is also to analyse what roles are given to the professionals in this communication, to identify what subject positions are constructed and to identify how boundaries are managed within the communication practices.
