  1. 1. In silico Identification of Thyroid Disrupting Chemicals : among industrial chemicals and household dust contaminants

    Författare :Jin Zhang; Patrik Andersson; A. Elisabeth Sauer-Eriksson; Liang-Hong Guo; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Thyroid disruption chemicals; virtual screening; tranthyretin; thyroid hormone receptor; QSAR modeling; molecular docking; molecular dynamics;

    Sammanfattning : Thyroid disruptions by xenobiotics have been associated with a broad spectrum of severe adverse human health effects, such as impaired brain development and metabolic syndrome. Ingestion of indoor dust and contact with industrial chemicals are two significant human exposure routes of thyroid hormone disrupting chemicals (THDCs), raising serious concerns for human health. 2. 2. Effects of mixtures of endocrine disrupting chemicals – Thyroid disruption and behavioural effects in fish models

    Författare :Lina Birgersson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; endocrine disrupting chemicals; ecotoxicology; zebrafish; perch; locomotion; behaviour; thyroid disruption; EDC mixtures;

    Sammanfattning : Wildlife and humans are continuously exposed to thousands of man-made compounds, including chemicals that are able to act as endocrine disruptors (EDCs). These pollutants are able to affect vital processes including brain development, reproduction, metabolism and growth. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Regulation of E-cadherin mediated adhesion in thyroid epithelial cells

    Författare :Fredrik Larsson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :thyroid; adherens junction; E-cadherin; thyrotropin; cAMP; PKA; Epac; IQGAP;

    Sammanfattning : Cell adhesion is one of multicellular organisms most fundamental features. Cells connect to each other by transmembrane proteins arranged in junction complexes. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Molecular mechanisms of AhR mediated endocrine disruption of estrogen and retinoic acid signalling pathways

    Författare :David Wahlström; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Dioxins and similar compounds are toxic substances ubiquitously present in the environment. The most potent dioxin, 2,3,7,8-tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin (TCDD), is considered to be one of the most toxic compounds known to man. LÄS MER

  5. 5. VEGF-mediated vascular functions in health and disease

    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Angiogenesis is essential for physiological processes including embryonic development, tissue regeneration, and reproduction. Under various pathological conditions the same angiogenic process contribute to the onset, development, and progression of many human diseases including cancer, diabetic complications, ocular disease, chronic inflammation and cardiovascular disease.
