  1. 1. Epidemiology of venous thromboembolism with focus on risk markers

    Detta är en avhandling från Umeå : Umeå University

    Författare :Magdalena Johansson; Umeå universitet.; [2019]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Venous thromboembolism; venous thrombosis; deep vein thrombosis; pulmonary embolism; incidence; risk markers; diabetes; glucose; alcohol consumption; alcohol dependence; physical activity; medicin; Medicine;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Venous thromboembolism (VTE) is a vascular disease with an incidence of approximately 140 cases per 100,000 person-years in adults. The incidence of VTE has increased over the last decades, and more than 20% of affected individuals die in the first year after diagnosis. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Drug-related morbidity and mortality Pharmacoepidemiological aspects

    Detta är en avhandling från Institutionen för medicin och hälsa

    Författare :Anna K. Jönsson; Linköpings universitet.; Linköpings universitet.; Östergötlands Läns Landsting.; [2007]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Adverse drug reactions; pharmacoepidemiology; antipsychotics; venous; thromboembolism; warfarin; haemorrhage; intoxication; medico-legal autopsies; mortality; Läkemedelsbiverkningar; farmakoepidemiologi; antipsykotika; venös tromboembolism; warfarin; blödning; intoxikation; rättsmedicinska obduktioner; fatal; MEDICINE Physiology and pharmacology Pharmacological research Clinical pharmacology; MEDICIN Fysiologi och farmakologi Farmakologisk forskning Klinisk farmakologi;

    Sammanfattning : Adverse drug reactions (ADRs) constitute a significant health problem with consequences for the patient as well as for society. Suspected ADRs have been reported to occur in about 2-14% of hospitalised patients. In about 5% of deceased hospitalised patients suspected ADRs may have caused or contributed to the fatal outcome. 3. 3. Thrombosis in Children

    Detta är en avhandling från Department of Clinical Sciences, Lund University

    Författare :Olof Rask; Lund University.; Lunds universitet.; [2008]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Child; Estradiol; Heart Defects; Congenital; Hemostasis; Protein C Inhibitor; Risk factors; Thrombophilia; Thromboembolism; Autoantibodies; Adolescent;

    Sammanfattning : Aims: The general objective was to further elucidate thromboembolic disease in children and thereby help improve the care of these patients. More specific aims were as follows: to determine what children are affected by thrombosis; to discern any gender or age differences related to thrombosis; to identify prothrombotic risk factors; to ascertain whether autoantibodies against coagulation proteins constitute a risk factor for childhood thrombosis; to study girls receiving estrogen treatment with regard to induced hemostatic changes and efficacy of the therapy; to investigate long-term effects on the hemostatic system in children subjected to heart surgery. 4. 4. The use of fibrinogen in cardiac surgery patients-clinical and experimental studies

    Detta är en avhandling från Göteborgs universitet

    Författare :Katarina Waldén; Göteborgs universitet.; Gothenburg University.; [2019]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; fibrinogen; cardiac surgery; bleeding; transfusion; thromboembolism; tranexamic acid;

    Sammanfattning : BACKGROUND Cardiac surgery with cardiopulmonary bypass impairs hemostasis due to hemodilution and consumption of platelets and coagulation factors, such as fibrinogen. The aim of this thesis was to study the role of fibrinogen in bleeding complications in cardiac surgery patients. LÄS MER

  5. 5. VENOUS THROMBOEMBOLISM IN SOUTHERN SWEDEN EPIDEMIOLOGY AND RISK FACTORS

    Detta är en avhandling från Department of Vascular diseases, Skåne University Hospital Malmö, Lund University

    Författare :Nazim Isma; Lund University.; Lunds universitet.; [2012]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; epidemiology; Venous thromboembolism VTE ; risk factors; factor V leiden FVL ; socioeconomic status SES ; upper extremety deep venous thrombosis UEDVT ; haemoglobin Hb ; low molecular weight heparin LMWH ; labour;

    Sammanfattning : Despite the fact that venous thromboembolism (VTE) is an important cause of morbidity and mortality there is still insufficient information on VTE risk factors and patient characteristics in the general population. Previously published incidences of VTE (deep venous thrombosis [DVT] and pulmonary embolism [PE]) vary from 71 to 192 per 100,000 individuals per year. LÄS MER
