6. Technology and studies of electron transport in InAs nanowire junctions
Sammanfattning : The topic of this thesis is technology and experimental studies of electron transport in Indium Arsenide (InAs) nanowires and InAs nanowire junctions. The aim of this work has been fabrication of nanoelectronic devices which have possibilities for future nanoelectronics. LÄS MER
7. Near-infrared photodetectors based on Si/SiGe nanostructures
Sammanfattning : Two types of photodetectors containing Ge/Si quantum dots have been fabricated based on materials grown by molecular beam epitaxy and characterized with several experimental techniques. The aim was to study new device architectures with the implementation of Ge nanostructures, in order to obtain high detection efficiency in the near infrared range at room temperature. LÄS MER
8. Modeling a carbon-nanotube-based nanoelectromechanical relay
Sammanfattning : We have theoretically investigated the properties of a three-terminal carbon-nanotube-based nanoelectromechanical relay. The system operationis based on an coupling between electrical and mechanical degrees of freedom which is a typical characteristic of a NEMS device. LÄS MER
9. InP/InAsP Quantum Discs-in-Nanowire Array Photodetectors: Design, Fabrication and Optical Performance
Sammanfattning : This thesis focuses on processing and electro-optical investigations of two- and three-terminal photodetectors based on large arrays of around three million n+-i-n+ InP nanowires with embedded InAsP quantum heterostructures for broadband detection. First, we investigated the optoelectronic behavior of two-terminal photodetectors under selective 980 nm excitation of the 20 axially embedded InAsP quantum discs in each of the nanowires. LÄS MER
10. Spintronic and Electronic Oscillators for Magnetic Field Sensing and Ising Machines
Sammanfattning : Oscillators can exhibit a range of complex dynamics which are often encountered in nature. These characteristics include synchronization, injection locking, chaos, bifurcations, etc. To date, the applications of electronic oscillators has mostly been limited to communication systems.
