11. NMR studies of protein dynamics and structure
Sammanfattning : Enzymes are extraordinary molecules that can accelerate chemical reactions by several orders of magnitude. With recent advancements in structural biology together with classical enzymology the mechanism of many enzymes has become understood at the molecular level. LÄS MER
12. Engineering enzymes towards biotherapeutic applications using ancestral sequence reconstruction
Sammanfattning : Enzymes are versatile biocatalysts that fulfill essential functions in all forms of life and, therefore, play an important role in health and disease. One specific application of enzymes in life science is their use as biopharmaceuticals, which typically benefits from high catalytic activity and stability. LÄS MER
13. Determining Ligand- and Lipid- Interactions of SLC Transporters
Sammanfattning : Solute carrier transporters (SLCs) mediate the inter- and intra- cellular trafficking of a plethora of substrates and are essential to cell homeostasis. Despite their importance to human physiology and their potential as therapeutic targets, many SLCs are considered orphans as the physiological substrate has not been experimentally determined. 14. Understanding p53 structure and targeting mutant p53 for improved cancer therapy
Sammanfattning : The p53 gene family consists of p53, p63 and p73. The three proteins share a high degree of structural similarity in their DNA-binding domains but have rather different functions. The tumor suppressor p53 acts as the guardian of the genome and is activated in response to cellular stress. LÄS MER
15. Organosiloxanes containing cyano groups for capillary chromatography
Sammanfattning : Methods have been developed for the preparation of capillary columns coated with organosiloxanes containing cyano groups. A procedure was developed for surface modification of the capillary tubing, by means of high temperature silylation. Such a modification gives deactivation and creates a surface suitable for coating with cyanosilicones. LÄS MER
