21. On Model Libraries for Thermo-hydraulic Applications
Sammanfattning : Mathematical modelling and simulation are important tools when dealing with engineering systems that today are becoming increasingly more complex. Tightly integrated production and process optimization are trends that give rise to heterogeneous systems, which are difficult to handle without expertise in several engineering disciplines. LÄS MER
22. Full Cycle Engine Simulations with Detailed Chemistry
Sammanfattning : The modeling work developed in this thesis can be divided in two main areas of investigations: autoignition related to spark ignition engine and combustion and emissions formation in relation to diesel engines. A first version of a detailed kinetics engine simulation program, extended to handle full cycle calculations, was employed in order to demonstrate the strong effect that nitric oxide from the residual gas has on the autoignition onset. 23. Magnetic Refrigeration for Near Room-Temperature Applications
Sammanfattning : Refrigeration plays a crucial role in many different sectors and consumes about 17% of the electricity produced globally. This significant energy consumption implies large share of refrigeration in primary energy consumption and other environmental impacts. LÄS MER
24. On Radiative Heat Transfer Modeling with Relevance for Combustor and Biomass Furnaces
Sammanfattning : Thermal radiation sometimes is the dominating heat transfer mode in combustion chambers and furnaces and therefore in the design of many relevant industrial facilities prediction of it is necessary. During previous years many research efforts in the radiative heat transfer field have originated and many methods and models from simple to complex have been developed. LÄS MER
25. An ultrasonic density measurement technique : performance, thermal effects, experimental validations, and modeling
Sammanfattning : This licentiate thesis addresses the idea of measurement of the density of liquids using sound. The thesis can be dived into three sections: 1. An introduction that presents the need for the research and its future application into an ultrasonic mass flow meter. 2. LÄS MER
