  1. 1. Theorizing the therapeutic process in substance use-related dependency treatment

    Författare :Therese von Braun; Sam Larsson; Yvonne Sjöblom; Inga Tidefors; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Therapeutic process; therapeutic relationship; therapeutic alliance; substance use-related dependency; treatment; self; self-theoretical perspective; self-theory; alcoholic self; drug self; sober self; mind; multi-mind; multidimensional model; Social Work; socialt arbete;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of the thesis was to increase knowledge on how to understand the therapeutic process highlighting the importance of the therapeutic relationship as described by therapists and clients in substance use-related dependency treatment. The research questions were related to how the therapeutic process can contribute to a positive outcome considering the therapists’, the clients’ and close co-dependent relatives’ perspectives. 2. 2. Therapeutic Cancer Vaccines Targeting Molecules Associated with Tumor Angiogenesis

    Författare :Julia Femel; Anna-Karin Olsson; Grietje (Ingrid) Molema; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; tumor; therapeutic; cancer vaccine; angiogenesis; vasculature; fibronectin; galectin-1; Medical Cell Biology; Medicinsk cellbiologi; Oncology; Onkologi; Biomedicinsk laboratorievetenskap; Biomedical Laboratory Science; Medical Science; Medicinsk vetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Induction of an endogenous antibody response by therapeutic vaccination could provide an alternative to cost-intensive monoclonal antibody-based treatments for cancer. Since the target of a cancer vaccine will most likely be a self-antigen, self-tolerance of the immune system must be circumvented. LÄS MER

  3. 3. On drug use, multiple medication and polypharmacy in a national population

    Författare :Bo Hovstadius; Göran Petersson; Sven Tågerud; Bengt Åstrand; Björn Wettermark; Linnéuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :drug use; multiple medication; polypharmacy; register; prevalence; therapeutic intensity; acquisition cost.; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; Biomedical Sciences; Biomedicinsk vetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : The application of multiple medications has successively increased during a number of years and has thereby increased the potential risks of adverse drug reactions, interactions and non-adherence to drug therapy. This may result in unnecessary health expenditure, directly due to redundant drug sales, and indirectly due to the increased hospitalization caused by drug-related problems. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Plasma as a Therapeutic Principle in Clinical Practice : With Special Reference to Sweden

    Författare :Rut A C Norda; Bo Nilsson; Bernd G Stegmayr; Kristina Nilsson-Ekdahl; Volker Kretschmer; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Immunology; adverse effects; contact activation; plasma exchange; plasma storage; severe sepsis; therapeutic apheresis; transfusion; Immunologi;

    Sammanfattning : The newly established Swedish Apheresis Registry makes it possible to do national inter-center comparisons. This study was undertaken to describe and analyze the use of therapeutic apheresis and the adverse effects in such therapy. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Compact-disc microfluidic methods for characterization of therapeutic antibodies : Analysis of post-translational modifications

    Författare :Thi Thuy Tran; Gunnar Thorsén; McLean John; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Microfluidic CD; therapeutic antibodies; post-translational modifications; glycosylation profiling; multivariate statistical analysis; MALDI-MS; Analytical Chemistry; analytisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : Characterization of post-translational modifications (PTMs) of therapeutic proteins is very important during the bioprocess development to maintain desired product quality and during the submission process to regulatory authorities for product approval. Monitoring glycosylation in pharmacokinetic studies can be useful to evaluate the dependence of clearance rates on different glycoforms. LÄS MER
