  1. 1. MaltParser -- An Architecture for Inductive Labeled Dependency Parsing

    Författare :Johan Hall; Joakim Nivre; Welf Löwe; Martin Volk; Växjö universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Dependency Parsing; Support Vector Machines; Machine Learning; Language technology; Språkteknologi; Computer and Information Sciences Computer Science; Data- och informationsvetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : This licentiate thesis presents a software architecture for inductive labeled dependency parsing of unrestricted natural language text, which achieves a strict modularization of parsing algorithm, feature model and learning method such that these parameters can be varied independently. The architecture is based on the theoretical framework of inductive dependency parsing by Nivre \citeyear{nivre06c} and has been realized in MaltParser, a system that supports several parsing algorithms and learning methods, for which complex feature models can be defined in a special description language. 2. 2. Att skriva i naturorienterande ämnen i skolan

    Författare :Åsa af Geijerstam; Caroline Liberg; Åke Viberg; Lars Sigfred Evensen; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Linguistics; text linguistics; scientific literacy; writing instruction; reader text relationship; systemic linguistics; applied linguistics; Lingvistik; Linguistics; Lingvistik;

    Sammanfattning : When children encounter new subjects in school, they are also faced with new ways of using language. Learning science thus means learning the language of science, and writing is one of the ways this is accomplished. The present study investigates writing in natural sciences in grades 5 and 8 in Swedish schools. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Triangulating Perspectives on Lexical Replacement : From Predictive Statistical Models to Descriptive Color Linguistics

    Författare :Susanne Vejdemo; Maria Koptjevskaja-Tamm; Bernhard Wälchli; Majid Asifa; Stockholms universitet; []

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis is to investigate lexical replacement processes from several complementary perspectives. It does so through three studies, each with a different scope and time depth. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Writing with an Attitude : Appraisal and student texts in the school subject of Swedish

    Författare :Jenny W. Folkeryd; Caroline Liberg; Åke Viberg; Fröydis Herzberg; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Linguistics; text linguistics; reader text relationship; systemic linguistics; appraisal theory; literacy education; written language; applied linguistics; Lingvistik; Linguistics; lingvistik;

    Sammanfattning : Learning in school is in many respects done through language. However, it has been shown that the language of school assignments is seldom explicitly discussed in school. Writing tasks are furthermore assigned without clear guidelines for how certain lexical choices make one text more powerful than another. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Las construcciones adverbiales del tipo “delante mío” y sus condicionantes : Patrones probabilísticos, reflejos de gramaticalización y encadenamiento analógico en variedades diacrónicas y diatópicas del español

    Författare :Matti Marttinen Larsson; Laura Álvarez López; Miriam Bouzouita; José Luis Blas Arroyo; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; corpus linguistics; grammaticalization; probabilistic grammar; quantitative linguistics; usage-based linguistics; variationist linguistics; possession; analogy; romanska språk med inriktning mot spanska; Romance Languages; Specialisation in Spanish;

    Sammanfattning : The present thesis combines Labovian variationism, probabilistic grammar, and grammaticalization theory, and sets out to identify i) variable patterns underlying phenomena of morphosyntactic variation, ii) the probabilistic knowledge of grammar that speakers of Spanish possess and regulate, and iii) the conditioning factors, mechanisms and motivations that constrain morphosyntactic variation and change in Spanish diachronically and synchronically. The object of study consists in the morphosyntactic variation and change in Spanish locative adverbial constructions found at a) the level of the complement (e. LÄS MER
