  1. 21. Sulphide mineral flotation : a new insight into oxidation mechanisms

    Författare :Alireza Javadi; Jan D. Miller; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Mineralteknik; Mineral Processing;

    Sammanfattning : Formation of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), an oxidizing agent stronger than oxygen, by sulphide minerals during grinding was investigated. It was found that pyrite (FeS2), chalcopyrite (CuFeS2), sphalerite ((Zn,Fe)S), and galena (PbS), which are the most abundant sulphide minerals on Earth, generated H2O2 in pulp liquid during wet grinding in the presence or devoid of dissolved oxygen in water and also when the freshly ground solids are placed in water immediately after dry grinding. 2. 22. Investigating Hydrogenous Behavior of Zintl Phases : Interstitial Hydrides, Polyanionic Hydrides, Complex Hydrides, Oxidative Decomposition

    Författare :Verina Kranak; Ulrich Häussermann; Gordon Miller; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Zintl phases; Hydrogenous Zintl phases; Polyanionic Zintl phases; Interstitial Zintl phases; Inorganic Chemistry; oorganisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis is an investigation into the hydrogenous behavior of Zintl phases. Zintl phases are comprised of an active metal (i.e alkali, alkaline earth, and rare earth) and a p-block element. The discussion gives an overview of the influence hydrogen affects the electronic and geometric structure of Zintl phases and subsequent properties. LÄS MER

    Författare :Bozena Guziana; Erik Dahlquist; Eva Thorin; Birgitta Schwartz; Peter Dobers; Terrence Fel; Van Miller; Mälardalens högskola; []
    Nyckelord :Greening; ‘Green’ business; ‘Green-green’ business; Environmental leaders; Environmental profile; Environmental technology; Product and production; Communicating; CSR; Ecopreneurs; Företags miljöarbete; ’Gröna’ företag; ’Grön-gröna’ företag; Miljöledande företag och organisationer; Miljöteknik; Produkt och tillverkning; Kommunikation; CSR; Ecoprenörer; Energy- and Environmental Engineering; energi- och miljöteknik;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis describes corporate greening in general, and specifically the environmental technology (ET) sector as a green sector. The thesis has also particular focus on production and products related aspects and the influence of the environmental profile of the ET sector on the environmental engagement of companies in the sector. 4. 24. Optimal design for dose-finding studies

    Författare :Renata Eirini Tsirpitzi; Frank Miller; Kirsten Schorning; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; bivariate model; distortion; drug combination; Elfving set; Emax model; Fedorov algorithm; mixed effects models; optimal experimental design; Statistics; statistik;

    Sammanfattning : One of the most complex tasks during the clinical development of a new drug is to find a correct dose. Optimal experimental design has as a goal to find the best ways to perform an experiment considering the available resources and the statistical model. Optimal designs have already been used to determine the design of dose-finding studies. LÄS MER

  5. 25. Molluscs, Environment and Man - A Bioarchaeological Approach in Sweden

    Författare :Birgitta M. Johansson; Birgit Arrhenius; Urve Miller; David S. Reese; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; molluscs; role of shells; shell use; bioarchaeology; subfossil shells; environmental indicator; molluscs as food; personal ornaments; ethnography; Björkö-Birka.; Archaeology subjects; Arkeologiämnen;

    Sammanfattning : The thesis aims to examine the role and use of molluscs in Swedish prehistory, in chorological and chronological aspects. Molluscs live in the sea, fresh water and on land. The Swedish mollusc fauna contains 623 taxa: 417 marine, 85 limnic and 121 terrestrial species. LÄS MER
