1. The Old, the New and the Unknown : The continents and the making of geographical knowledge in seventeenth-century Sweden
Sammanfattning : This thesis investigates early modern ways of looking at the world through an analysis of what the continents meant in three settings of knowledge making in seventeenth-century Sweden. Combining text, maps and images, the thesis analyses the meaning of the continents in, first, early modern scholarly ‘geography’, second, accounts of journeys to the Ottoman Empire and, third, accounts of journeys to the colony New Sweden. Sammanfattning : The experience of unemployment puts individuals at risk of long-term negative scarring and the longer the unemployment spell, the greater the risk of negative scarring. 4. The decline of choreography and its movement : a body's (path)way
Sammanfattning : This doctoral artistic research project addresses the possibility of a dance withdrawn from that neoliberal scheme accordingto which self-performance, entrepreneurship and the production of subjectivity rule. Taking as a starting point the dissident corporealities that have emerged in the last fifty years in Western contemporary experimental dance; the project involvesaesthetic, philosophical and socio-political perspectives, carried out on choreographic, performative, textual, audiovisual, curatorial and discursive media. Sammanfattning : The dissertation provides an in-depth analysis of Swedes’ perceptions about vacations during the period of 1938 to 1959.
