Sammanfattning : In mid-eighteenth century Paris, two Benedictine monks from the Congregation of Saint-Maur – also known as the Maurists – started compiling a universal dictionary of arts, crafts, and sciences. The project was initiated simultaneously with what would become one of the most famous literary enterprises in Western intellectual history: the Encyclopédie of Diderot and d’Alembert. LÄS MER
2. The Forgotten : an Approach on Harappan Toy Artefacts
Sammanfattning : This thesis proposes an alternative perspective to the general neglect of toy materials from deeper analysis in archaeology. Based on a study of selected toy artefacts from the Classical Harappan settlement at Bagasra, Gujarat, it suggests a viable way of approaching the objects when considering them within a theoretical framework highlighting their social aspects. Sammanfattning : This dissertation examines the relation between orality and literacy in the authorship of Fritiof Nilsson, The Pirate (1895-1972), who was well known both as an author and as an oral storyteller. The investigation is divided into four areas: The first concerns the contents of Fritiof Nilsson´s texts, especially different kind of folklore genres, that belong to verbal traditions (anecdotes, proverbs, legends, folk customs, folk medicin etc).
