  1. 11. Prevention of Biofilm Formation on Silicone Rubber Materials for Outdoor High Voltage Insulators

    Författare :Sevil Atari Jabarzadeh; Sigbritt Karlsson; Ferruccio Doghieri; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; High voltage insulator; silicone rubber; biofouling; biofilm; biocide; superhydrophobicity; self-cleaning; hierarchical roughness;

    Sammanfattning : Microbial colonization on the surface of silicone rubber high voltage outdoor insulators often results in the formation of highly hydrated biofilm that influence the surface properties, such as surface hydrophobicity. The loss of hydrophobicity might lead to dry band formation, and, in the worst cases, flashover and failure of the insulator. LÄS MER

  2. 12. Impact of Diagenetic Alterations on Reservoir Quality and Heterogeneity of Paralic and Shallow Marine Sandstones : Links to Depositional Facies and Sequence Stratigraphy

    Författare :Khalid Al-Ramadan; Sadoon Morad; Luiz Fernando De Ros; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Bedrock geology; Siliciclastic; Diagenesis; Sequence stratigraphy; Paralic and shallow marine; Heterogeneity; Reservoir quality; Berggrundsgeologi;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis constrains the distribution of diagenetic alterations and their impact on reservoir-quality and heterogeneity evolution pathways in relation to depositional environments and sequence stratigraphy (systems tracts and key sequence stratigraphic surfaces) of four selected paralic and shallow marine siliciclastic successions. Typical eogenetic alterations encountered include the dissolution and kaolinitization of framework silicates, which are closely associated to shoreface facies of forced regressive systems tract (FRWST), lowstand systems tract (LST), upper part of the highstand systems tract (HST), and below the sequence boundary (SB). 3. 13. Överskridandets strategier : lyrisk romankonst och dess uttryck hos Rosendahl, Trotzig och Lillpers

    Författare :Pär-Yngve Andersson; Lars-Åke Skalin; Staffan Bergsten; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Litteraturvetenskap; lyrical novel; spatial form; epiphany; Sven Rosendahl; Birgitta Trotzig; Birgitta Lillpers; litteraturvetenskap; Literature; Litteraturvetenskap; Litteraturvetenskap; Literature;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis I describe and analyse the concept of ”lyrical novel” in relation to concrete textual examples. Referring to Waismann’s open texture (porösität) and Wittgensteins ”family resemblance” I study texts that resemble each other although their lyrical features may not be identical. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Earth Observation based Monitoring of Urbanizationand Environmental Impact in Kigali, Rwanda

    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Earth observation; Landsat; Sentinel-2; WorldView-2; Urbanization; Land cover classification; Support vector machines; Random forest; U-Net; LandTrendr; Landscape metrics; Ecosystem services; Environmental impact analysis; Kigali; Rwanda; Jordobservation; Landsat; Sentinel-2 MSI; WorldView-2; Urbanisering; Klassificering av marktäcke; Stödvektormaskiner; Slumpmässig skog; U-Net; LandTrendr; Landskapsmetriker; Ekosystemtjänster; Miljökon- sekvensanalys; Kigali; Rwanda.; Geoinformatics; Geoinformatik;

    Sammanfattning : Urbanization is one of the great challenges in the 21st century. Despite being an engine for the global economy, urban areas consume 78% of World's energy and emit more than 60% of greenhouse gas emission. Sub-SaharanAfrican cities, e.g. LÄS MER

  5. 15. Satellie Monitoring of Urban Growth and Indicator-based Assessment of Environmental Impact

    Författare :Dorothy Furberg; Yifang Ban; Margareta Ihse; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Urban growth; remote sensing; landcover classification; landscape metrics; environmental indicators; environmental impact; Greater Toronto Area; Stockholm; Shanghai;

    Sammanfattning : One of the major consequences of urbanization is the transformation of land surfaces from rural/natural environments to built-up land that supports diverse forms of human activity. These transformations impact the local geology, climate, hydrology, flora and fauna and human-life supporting ecosystem services in the region. LÄS MER
