21. Designing for changeability in textiles
Sammanfattning : The tendency to wear out and change is inherent in most materials, yet textiles are usually designed to retain a single expression. Within an experimental, practical work, materials that are inherently changeable were used to create woven and knitted structures in order to approach textiles from the perspective of changeability and explore what this might mean for the field of textile design. 22. Smells: olfactive dimension in designing textile architecture
Sammanfattning : Designing with non-visual attributes challenges ways of representation. This research explores methods for designing with invisible materiality within the research practice, as well as ways of representation through textiles when designing spaces. Exploring textiles and smells within a space, the research program investigates spatial interactions. LÄS MER
23. Luminescent textiles using biobased products : A bioinspired approach
Sammanfattning : Nature has designed a few biobased molecules that are responsible for bioluminescence and photoluminescence in some living species. In this thesis, the potential use of luminescence phenomena existing in nature toward the attainment of luminescent textiles was explored. LÄS MER
24. Making sense of risk - An analysis of framings in media of the chemical risks of textiles, toys and paint
Sammanfattning : Chemical risks of consumer goods are a rather new concern in society. These risks are usually based on sythetic chemicals and man-made, often imperceptible and potentially devastating. LÄS MER
25. Conjugated Polymer-based Conductive Fibers for Smart Textile Applications
Sammanfattning : Electrically conductive or electro-active fibers are the key components of smart and interactive textiles, which could be used in medical, sports, energy, and military applications in the near future. The functionalization of high-performance textile yarns/fibers with conjugated polymers can produce conductive fibers with better electro-mechanical properties, which is difficult with commonly used spinning techniques.
