   Sammanfattning : The present dissertation explores student actors’ and their teachers’ coordination of text understanding in a theatre production – a two-semester process from page to stage in an upper secondary school in Sweden. With an interest in the collaborative work achieved in and through theatre education the research is realized against a background of the role of arts education and reading of literary texts in the neoliberal educational landscape that favors measurable effects of individual achievements.    Sammanfattning : This thesis investigates the concept of emotive meaning, which has been used in numerous versions during the last decade to explain and de¬scribe linguistic evaluation. It examines how emotive meaning is con¬structed within the frames of different semantic theories, how it works in empirical studies, and the thesis aims, furthermore, to expose alterna¬tive possibilities to understand and study evaluation, which tend to be overlooked in earlier research.
