1. Stress in infants and parents : Studies of salivary cortisol, behaviour and psychometric measures

Ever since Hans Selye’s initial characterisation of the biological stress response, cortisol has been frequently measured as an indicator of stress responsivity. LÄS MER
2. Neutrophil Chemotaxis and Respiratory Burst in Term and Preterm Newborn Infants
Sammanfattning : Neutrophil activation is the most important initial immune defense against invading microbes in newborn infants. The reduced neutrophil migration and uncontrolled regulation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) production observed in neonates, could result in a diminished infectious response or in tissue damage. 4. Short- and Long-Term Follow-Up of Ophthalmological Findings in Preterm Infants and Children
Sammanfattning : In a prospective population-based study in Stockholm County, 1998-2000, the incidence of retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) was investigated and was found to be 36% in prematurely-born infants with a birth weight of ≤ 1500 grams. Compared to a study performed ten years ago, the overall incidence was unchanged, but was reduced in “mature” infants and increased in immature ones. LÄS MER
5. Infants in Control : Prospective Motor Control and Executive Functions in Action Development
