11. Physical properties of dispersions and composites containing surface-grafted cellulose nanocrystals
Sammanfattning : The needs and requests from the society for non-fossil-based materials as well as more lightweight products are constantly increasing. The increasing awareness of the sustainability of the resources available paralleled by a growing population, point to a need for changes, if the population also aim for constantly higher standard of living. 12. The influence of Morphology on the Transport and Mechanical Properties of Polyethylene
Sammanfattning : The sorption/desorption behaviour of n-hexane in high molarmass linear polyethylene (PE) and branched PEs with 0.39 and5.09 hexyl branches per 100 main chain C atoms andcrystallinities between 4 and 82% at 298 K has been studied.Crystal core contents determined by Raman spectroscopy werealways lower than those determined by density measurements. 13. Extended impregnation kraft cooking of softwood : Effects on reject, yield, pulping uniformity, and physical properties
Sammanfattning : Converting wood into paper is a complex process involving many different stages, one of which is pulping. Pulping involves liberating the wood fibres from each other, which can be done either chemically or mechanically. LÄS MER
14. Microstructure and mechanical properties of Ti-6Al-2Sn-4Zr-2Mo and Ti-6Al-4V : influence of H, O and B
Sammanfattning : Titanium and its alloys are used in a wide range of applications from aerospace, marine, biomedical implants and consumer goods, due to their superior specific strength, excellent corrosion resistance, and biocompatibility. In aerospace applications, these alloys are predominately used as components in the aero/rocket engines because of their high strength-to-density ratio compared to other metallic materials. LÄS MER
15. Processing and properties of thermoplastic composites containing cellulose nanocrystals or wood-based cellulose fibres
Sammanfattning : Cellulose nanocrystals (CNC) were surface modified with dialkylamines to increase the compatibility between the CNC and the polymeric matrix, and promising results were obtained, with a 300 % stiffness increase when the mixed dispersion was compression moulded on a laboratory scale. The manufacturing process was up-scaled using water-assisted mixing in a twin-screw extruder (TSE) followed by a second compounding step and injection moulding (IM). LÄS MER
