  1. 21. Information Demand and Use : Improving Information Flow within Small-scale Business Contexts

    Författare :Magnus Lundqvist; Kurt Sandkuhl; Sture Hägglund; Wolfgang Deiters; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Information Use; Information Demand; Information Logistics; Information Flow; Context; Patterns; Enterprise Modelling; Information Modelling; Informatics; computer and systems science; Informatik; data- och systemvetenskap; Information technology;

    Sammanfattning : Whilst the amount of information readily available to workers in information- and knowledge intensive business- and industrial contexts only seem to increase with every day, those workers still have difficulties in finding relevant and needed information as well as storing, distributing, and aggregating such information. Yet, whilst there exist numerous technical, organisational, and practical approaches to remedy the situation, the problems seem to prevail. LÄS MER

  3. 23. Mind your Language, All Right? Performance-dependent neural patterns of language

    Författare :Helene van Ettinger-Veenstra; Maria Engström; Peter Lundberg; Thomas Karlsson; Anita McAllister; Karsten Specht; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Language ability; performance; fMRI; functional magnetic resonance imaging; Broca; Wernicke; temporal lobe; inferior frontal gyrus; reading; fluency; lateralization; lateralisation; right hemisphere; performance-dependent; neural activation;

    Sammanfattning : The main aim of this dissertation was to investigate the difference in neural language patternsrelated to language ability in healthy adults. The focus lies on unraveling the contributions of theright‐hemispheric homologues to Broca’s area in the inferior frontal gyrus (IFG) and Wernicke’s areain the posterior temporal and inferior parietal lobes. 4. 24. Middle ear mechanics : using temporal bone experiments to improve clinical methods

    Författare :Anton Rönnblom; Krister Tano; Magnus Von Unge; Mimmi Werner; Måns Eeg-Olofsson; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Middle ear; conductive hearing loss; ossiculoplasty; human temporal bone; Laser doppler vibrometry; malleus fracture; middle ear muscles; muscle fiber composition; Oto-Rhino-Laryngology; oto-rhino-laryngologi;

    Sammanfattning : BackgroundThe middle ear transmits and amplifies sound vibrations from the tympanic membrane via three ossicles to the inner ear. Moreover, it contains two muscles, the stapedius muscle (SM) which protects the inner ear from loud noise, and the tensor tympani (TT) whose function is still debated. LÄS MER

  5. 25. Migration strategies of raptors – spatio-temporal adaptations and constraints in travelling and foraging

    Författare :Roine Strandberg; Biologiska institutionen; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; route convergence; loop migration; mortality; spatio-temporal distribution patterns; pre- and post-migratory movements; daily travel routines; satellite tracking; fly-and-forage migration; raptors;

    Sammanfattning : My dissertation is about bird migration and addresses questions about how raptors adapt to the fluctuating environments during the transition seasons between breeding and wintering. The migration is highly affected by local prey abundance, foraging strategies, weather conditions and landscape patterns along the migration routes as well as navigation and orientation mechanisms and cues.
