  1. 6. How to model temporal changes in epidemiological data : Treatment trajectories in men with prostate cancer

    Författare :Eugenio Ventimiglia; Pär Stattin; Paul C. Lambert; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; prostate cancer; state transition model; life expectancy; active surveillance; watchful waiting;

    Sammanfattning : Owing to the improvements in detection, diagnostics, and treatment, many men currently diagnosed with prostate cancer (PCa) have a low risk of PCa death. For many men PCa has become a chronic disease with a small risk of progression that remains even decades after date of diag-nosis. LÄS MER

  2. 7. Temporal Characteristics of Boreal Forest Radar Measurements

    Författare :Albert Monteith; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; antenna array; Synthetic aperture radar; temporal coherence; tomography; backscatter; remote sensing;

    Sammanfattning : Radar observations of forests are sensitive to seasonal changes, meteorological variables and variations in soil and tree water content. These phenomena cause temporal variations in radar measurements, limiting the accuracy of tree height and biomass estimates using radar data. LÄS MER

  3. 8. Spatio-Temporal Stream Reasoning with Adaptive State Stream Generation

    Författare :Daniel de Leng; Fredrik Heintz; Patrick Doherty; Emanuele Della Valle; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; stream reasoning; stream processing; temporal reasoning; spatial reasoning; configuration planning; intelligent robotics;

    Sammanfattning : A lot of today's data is generated incrementally over time by a large variety of producers. This data ranges from quantitative sensor observations produced by robot systems to complex unstructured human-generated texts on social media. With data being so abundant, making sense of these streams of data through reasoning is challenging. LÄS MER

  4. 9. Peakflow response of stream networks : implications of physical descriptions of streams and temporal change

    Författare :Anna Åkesson; Anders Wörman; Alberto Viglione; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Streamflow routing; peakflow predictions; parameterization; hydrological response; stage-dependency; flooded cross-sections; stream networks; backwater effects; temporal change; land use change; Civil and Architectural Engineering; Byggvetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Through distributed stream network routing, it has quantitatively been shown that the relationship between flow travel time and discharge varies strongly nonlinearly with stream stage and with catchment-specific properties.Physically derived distributions of water travel times through a stream network were successfully used to parameterise the streamflow response function of a compartmental hydrological model. 5. 10. Temporalitet och social ordning : en tidssociologisk diskussion utifrån vårdpersonals uppfattningar om handlingsmöjligheter i arbetet

    Författare :Anna-Liisa Närvänen; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Biographical scheme; career; care work; organizational time; scope of action; socialization; social memoty; sociology of time; temporal order; temporal orientation; INTERDISCIPLINARY RESEARCH AREAS; TVÄRVETENSKAPLIGA FORSKNINGSOMRÅDEN;

    Sammanfattning : The primary aim of the thesis is to develop a theoretical frame of reference concerning the significance of temporality for social order, how it is created, maintained and how it can be changed in interaction. The theoretical frame of reference is developed gradually and is considered as heuristic. Emphasis is placed on temporal orientation, i.e. LÄS MER
